This is part 3 of a 3 part series on starting solids so be sure to check out:
Part 1 -- "When to Start Solids": https://youtu.be/tOiXWDG44wU
I wish you gave more specifics. When you say an allergy, what do we look for? How many days do we wait for something else? Is that the only food they eat for three days?

I started solids with my baby at 6 months. We did pretty well with variety for a while, but it's taking so long to introduce allergens because I was taught to space them out 2-3 days apart from each other and once introduced, keep offering 1-2x per week. It's going to take months to introduce allergens and there isn't any days left to introduce any other foods like veggies or fruit or meat. How am I supposed to give my baby a variety of foods but also space them out?

Thank you for posting this!
@CarieloveSmithIncredibly helpful!!
@glitterbykatewild7579So the first foods doesn’t have to be a puree?
@Roseyyy667What is your opinion about giving babies iron-fortified cereals? My nurse said to start with them, but they are full of preservatives. Can I make them at home?
@garaziromerovallejo1209What age do you recommend to give solids?
@almarodriguez5832So things like tomato, banana, egg, well cooked veg... it's ok to start giving them all that so young? What if a little piece breaks off and they can really chew? FTM here
@yasladakayaErm.........first food avocado - "pro tip- roll it in breadcrumbs," now if baby reacts - was it difficulty with the avocado or wheat???!!!! First foods should be single ingredients so you know what's happening if you get a bad reaction - you might say but avocado is not a common allergen but item number 2 was banana and my LO has a banana allergy which was identified super early because we introduced it as a single ingredient on day 3 and repeated on day 7
@catmor84I’m allergic to Avocado, and so is my mom so im afraid to give it to my daughter, and my sister and father are allergic to bananas…
@Athens3192Thank you soooo much this gives me confidence to try my baby boy on foods ! I have two sons with a 10 year age gap, so this gives me good tips
@amberfossAmazing 🎉❤❤❤❤
@GlobalFaithNetworkMy baby is 3 months this sleep 8 30 😭
@BronwynGroenewaldThank you for this video. It's very helpful to send my friend who is a new mama.
Ps please make sure your babies are fully clothed ie pants and shirts for their online safety. The creeps out there like pictures of not fully clothed babies. Protect their online foot print..
I saw my mom cut an apple in half and use a spoon to scrape the surface to feed my little sister. I did the same thing with my baby. it’s a great bonding experience for me and baby and it’s literally just apple sauce straight from an apple. no unnecessary additives with store bough apple sauce
@michigeng8560First foods for baby should be animal food, not these fruits that have a lot of sugar and plant foods that are hard for their immature digestive system👎
@estheres7234My diet is made up of high caloric food cause I used to be an athlete, including junk food and sugar since I run almost everyday and don’t have much time on hand. Nonetheless, my baby eats nutritious meals, prepped in advance and researched beforehand. Our usuals are egg + fruit in the morning, a baby salad, hummus or veggie plate at noon and an actual dish in the evening that I cook (chicken with rice, lentils, beans, salmon, etc.). She’s 8 months old and apart from honey and diary (CMPI baby) she can now eat hard food, even though she has no teeth. This comment is just to encourage those moms that never watch what they eat, cause I’m one of them. You can do it for your baby!! And if you want to change your diet, eating healthy has never been easier than alongside your babe.
@mushisushixThis was so helpful to ease my anxiety around transitioning my baby from purees to real foods. She’s 7 months and I’ve only really tried avocado but not long strips. So I’m much more at ease! Thank you!
@Nicoles442My boy took massive bites. It didn't matter if the item was mushable, he still choked.
@josiegrosie4025Perfect timing to come across this video! My son will start eating in a couple weeks. Here in Japan they start at 5 months with a thin rice puree as baby’s first food (10:1 water and rice ratio that’s then blended into a puree). Looking forward to giving my little guy all sorts of foods!
@jenleigh4212Wow this is funny, I’m eating my breakfast and it’s eggs, avocado, hummus, sweet potato hash and a banana. 😂
@BloodSweatandFearsMy kid had a reaction to avocado. 😢

@haroldreginald8049I had an RN tell me to never give your baby cheese or even elderly who struggle eating cheese. It is an extreme choking hazard, it’s sticky and hard to get out. Of course Hot dogs, grapes, and CUTIES. My little brother almost died eating a cutie, thankfully the person watching us knew the Heimlich maneuver.
@Sis-j7hDemonstration of the 🍌 trick would be appreciated!
@NV09Hello you guys still active in replying??
Did you guys give your baby 1 type of food for 3 days and then change to another or did you guys just gave her diff type of food different days?
My boy is 12 months and still eats stage 2 puree in jars. Trying to get him to eat more but any kind of chunk texture makes him gag... he has 8 teeth so I don't understand what to do 🥺
@heather-anngonzales467I wouldn’t suggest processed bread crumbs for a baby. Sheesh yall are getting roasted in the comments .
@JoeHarnden1991Thanks so much for sharing!!
@ninanissan388We’re allergic to bananas :(
@DAIDAI2955I learned how to do back blows, but I have a life vac just in case. It gives me peace of mind.

@Diana-007The baby is a carbon copy of the father! Amazing
@ladyazalea3710Derrick are you a Gemini? 😂
@Maya-il7gxDerrick are you a Gemini? 😂
@Maya-il7gxhi doctor my baby is 4 month and 7 days and he weigh 14 lb is he underweight as my doctor said he comes in 18% out of 100% that is considered as little underweight. I am little worried and she told me to start with cereal now at 4 month please recomend me something and tell me about the weight too.
@inderjotkaur1500Do you just throw away the big meat strips after they work on it for a while? Trying to plan BLW for my babies. Thanks.
@mollyhou9746Thank you so much for taking the time to share such amazing information! Been watching your videos since the beginning of my pregnancy and now watching the ones relevant to our sweet 5 month old. ❤ I appreciate all the time and effort you put into making these!!
@TaylorPfeiferThey just blew past the allergens in bread crumbs 🤦🏻♀️😖
