Under Ponch it was always going to take a camp before the tournament or an extended period of time like a traditional club team. I think the US will come second and from there depends on the draw. What does being "grouped" means?

A Mexican fan once put it perfectly. It is infuriating to lose to the US for two reasons: 1. The US are not any good, and 2. the US fans do not care. If we lose, we will move on. We recognize that our team has not progressed for decades even with more players playing in European leagues. So growing the game is presently not a thing. American sports fans do not live and die base on what US soccer is able to accomplish. We are about to crown a NBA and NHL champion. Basketball and ice hockey fans really care about who wins these championships. And then we are in the middle of baseball season. There might be a dozen World Cup games that will get more American viewers than baseball during the weeks of the World Cup.

French here, our squad depth has been largely exaggerated, we have a subpar midfield and just okay full backs, we'll concede a lot of goals so we will need to score 2-3 goals each game to not lose

The thing about France is that their midfield is not great so they will struggle to control games
