What a treat for my recommended videos! You can see if you pronounce Melbourne correctly us Aussies lose our minds. Thank you for a wonderful video essay of our lovely city! I live a few blocks away from the Shrine of remembrance and can see the sight seers at the top of the Shrine from my apartment. We are very lucky to live here and absolutely can confirm our weekends are filled with free enterainment and great food. I hope you visit us again! Amazing video.

9:28 A Day of Exploring Queen Victoria Market..

13:58 Visiting the State Library of Victoria (Breathtaking..)

If you take a look at the view from War memorial (at 8.57mins), pause and zoom in, you will see a face on a building right in the centre of shot. That’s William Barack. He is a significant indigenous figure for Melbourne. He was a teacher and cultural advocate, for his people. Also an advocate for aboriginal land rights. The building, in Swanston St Carlton, is a beautiful tribute to William.

Love seeing the city through your eyes, thanks so much guys. Glad you had a great time! ❤

Shopping...go to Bourke Street Mall in " downtown", or for extreme high end shopping go to the top end of Collins Street, also nearby. Otherwise known as the Paris end. Our suburbs have big shopping malls too. Melbourne is a cosmopolitan, classy, eclectic, cool and elegant grand dame. Nowhere else is like her. You'll find it all.

This warmed my heart. I always tell visitors that Sydney is a tourist city but Melbourne is a living city. Sydney is WONDERFUL - so much to see and do, lots going on. But Melbourne? You've got to go looking for the real stuff. The fact that you guys went to the NGV and the State Library - things we take for granted, AND that you made the effort to try and pronounce the name of our city correctly... I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves here. Next time you're here, get your gelato from Lygon Street in Carlton.

Being from Melbourne, I watched this video. I got 3 minutes in and the cringe was too much. Seppo’s pontificating about coffee when they sound like they should be narrating a budget meditation track 😂

Born and bred in Melbourne, I've lived in Adelaide, Sydney and Brissy and all I can say is if you come to Melbourne for the weather you'll probably be disappointed. If you come for the food, fashion, sport, culture and coffee, you'll be impressed. And those donuts from the Vic mkt are the bomb!

Melbourne is a dump😝 filthy brown ‘river’ dirty streets and graffiti everywhere.
Sydney rules on every metric. Best harbour on earth, best beaches, best transport, great food and of course NRL🏉 Go the Rabbitohs!!!

between melbs, sidney and brisbane, which city do you prefere?

In the 1980s I lived in Brunswick Street Fitzroy and always thought the rest of the world would be much better, then I travelled everywhere and realised how wrong I was. Londoners told me they were “it”, Parisians scoffed when I hinted Melbourne food was better. Coming home it hit me how extremely lucky I am and that I really hit the jackpot in life. Cultured, peaceful, fun, interesting. Forever grateful to the universe!!! 🥰

Just an fyi, the tram you hopped on was not in the free tram zone, that zone only covers the CBD.

Omg l came here to say you say Melbourne like a local, but l've been beaten to it! Well done! Loved the vid. ❤

I live in a colder area of Canada and I'm with Rhylan, ice or cold brew is the way to go. I swear it's science (it's not) but hot coffee warms your internal temp too much to the point where you are colder in the elements.

Fun fact, the State Library was the first truly public library in the world!
It opened in 1856, and the only three rules of entry was to take off your shoes and wash your hands before you entered (because of the dust) and that you couldn't eat or drink on the premises. Pretty cool ☺️

As a Melbournian, I love that you both pronounced “Melbourne” the right (local) way. And yes, Melbs is the best and coolest city!

You were at the wrong side of the Victoria market. You need to go inside. Outside it just random stalls with crap. Inside is where all the nice food is.

You walked past my house. In Fitzroy. Funny. The only thing not coot about Fitzroy are the tourists taking selfies of themselves and vlogging. I am definitely judging you😂

Welcome to my beautiful city! You should've gone to The terrace in the Royal Botanical Gardens for croissant. Lune is the most overrated bakery in Melbourne.

I've been so homesick for Melbs that I found this vlog on during a YT rabbit hole...loved seeing it through your eyes and bonus points for nailing the correct pronunciation of Melbourne! 🩷

You two make really great vlogs. Your background musical choices are divine. You're a beautiful, well-matched, expressive, appreciative, chill couple, you really should consider moving here while the USD is strong against the AUD. We are so lucky to enjoy diverse, natural beauty while incorporating the best of Mediterranean, Asian and US cultures (without the problems) and are really trying hard (IMO) to nourish and recify to the extent possible the sins of colonial Anglo-Saxon-Celtic forebears. We would welcome you guys with open arms. And I'm sure you would embrace us too.

I so love Melbourne….returning for my third visit in December….sure it’s some 10,500 miles away from my home….but so worth the travel, the food, the art, the parks, the multi cultures….everything, great trams, it’s clean it’s safe and it’s my favourite place on the planet, if only my parents had taken up the offer of being a £10 Pom…from the UK in the 60’s…..cannot wait to return…..oh and then there’s AFL….up the Hawks …
