Opened With €2,000 Left in the bank. Now Booked Out for Months.| Family Meal, Ep.8: Fuku Ramen.

Video Overview & Insights

Family Meal, Ep. 8 – Fuku Ramen!

For family meal today: Japanese curry πŸ›

Beef brisket slow-cooked with curry cubes, red wine, and a roux. Sesame spinach on the side. Jakub's favorite staff meal β€” and after tasting it, I understand why.

could please tell me where you got your noodle cooker?

β€” @shans5765

Fuku Ramen is one of Amsterdam's most sought-after spots. A Polish chef, Japanese food, a tiny restaurant, and a waitlist that once moved faster than reservations at Noma. Jakub Karczewski grew up on a farm in Poland, where his grandmother cooked everything from scratch. He tried ramen once while studying hotel management β€” and that was it. One bowl.

He moved to Amsterdam to visit his sister. Stayed.

I was sure this was made by an account with atleast 100k subscribers. Great video and production mate.

He opened Fuku Ramen with his wife Aleksandra Karczewski β€” she runs front of house, he runs the kitchen. They started with €2,000 left in their private account after the company money ran out. A week before opening, they still had no electricity. They sold the car. They opened anyway.

Some guests have been back 80, 90 times.

Ik gebruik hier de gele van ook top voor Roti.

β€” @Pona1234

He makes the noodles himself. Always has.

Thanks for having me Jakub and Aleksandra ❀️

Can't even chop their onions fresh. Why it's booked full for months? What are people paying for?

β€” @lostStraberry

Family Meal is a series where I visit my favorite restaurants β€” from Michelin stars to local bistros β€” and film what the team eats before they feed everyone else. New episode every week.

I worked at Brasserie Le Coze in Atlanta, owned by Maguy Le Coze and Eric Ripert. Staff meal was a bunch of old leftovers that were good to serve, all thrown together in a hotel pan, Putin the oven till hot. Pure crap 90% of the time. And of course no real sitting g down to eat. Pure slavery.
