In 1998-1999 Paul used to follow my Mom and I to movies almost every week he was there, it seemed. We lived by Place de Cliche and would read the movie listing magazine and go off from there. I remember seeing The Thin Red Line and by the time the movie was over, he was in the aisles telling people how it was the best war movie ever, going crazy for it. My Mom and I didn't know who he was, just another American who loved movies in Paris with us.

One battle after another is probably the worst movie ever made. It's basically a woke wet dream. where the federal government is portrayed as mindless stormtroopers. DiCaprio is a weed-smoking, bomb making piece of garbage who nobody in their right mind would have anything to do with. Hollywood is gaslighting the American public with this garbage, calling it a success & in the process turning the hallowed best picture Oscar into a joke. No wonder people don't go to the movie theatre anymore with trash like this on offer. Rest in peace, Hollywood. Independent film is all that is left.

Such likable gentlemen but tremendous overwhelming constant praise tickles my gag . I beg your pardon but I personally judge a movie on a scale from a dime a dozen generic mainstream repetitive bores to my top 15 all time fav cult classics that stand the test of time. Movies one can watch 100 times throughout a lifetime. The last 10-15 yrs I can perhaps only truelly praise a handful amongst all these overwhelming amount of mainstream generic ai generated feeling of Netflix/Apple/Prime/etc endless automated life waster “movies” like Dune is one of the only movies since like 2010 I suppose that can honestly give me that spellbound feeling like Gladiator or titanic or the Edge or crimson tide reminiscent of the original Star Wars or the deep variety of genre films like comedies like midnight run, hear no evil see no evil, or the bill Murray classics like What about Bob & Groundhog Day or the die hard classics you know all the cult classics one plays at family holidays and James dean films and old black and white classic genres etc. No one will remember one battle after another in 2 yrs. Long forgotten and you know it.

@TheRigomoniDisney films were all I got to watch until a History Teacher planned the viewing of Tora Tora Tora to inform our education of WW2. My mother had a fit, but she signed the permission slip. It was my first Theater film, next year our English class saw Romeo & Juliet. But I still didn’t start going to the theaters regularly until my 20’s. Last time I went was in 2014.

@007cambonThis is so crazy to be recommended, I either love all the movies they're talking about and grew up with or I've talked about some of these movies with co-workers especially faces of death which is more his time because I was born in 99 and just turned 27 but i believe my love for cinema started while i was sick and almost dying and after recovering, I guess I've always been a old soul. I find it all to be a great video and a huge coincidence.

@ithanglowPTA is my favourite director ever. I jumped on the bandwagon after I saw my first one of his films - Magnolia, opening day. I could listen to him talk about film for hours. There's also a lack of ego in his demeanor and approach to conversations that it makes me love him even more. Also him giving Melania the gears is top tier shit 🤘
EDIT: I am watching every single movie they just mentioned. I am embarrassed to say I've never seen Midnight Run or The Searchers
