olivia deserves all the credit for the songwriting of dejavu. it isn't wrong to take inspiration. drawing from other sources to inspire your creativity is how imagination works for the vast, vast majority of creative people. and in this video she clearly named multiple different female artists as sources of inspiration other than the vampire. it is pure narcissism for swift to believe she deserved credit. and the money that is rightfully olivia's. so baffling.

Olivia is literally the only the songwriter (other than taylor swift and melanie martinez) that makes my brain actually watch the scene she's describing so well.. her storytelling and imagery is amazing! maybe she's not as good as taylor YET, but! I'm saying this as a swiftie, but she's definitely 95% there! especially after GUTS?? she's up there..

This is probably the best interview I’ve seen with Olivia. Her messages and tips are not just for people who dream to be songwriters, it’s for everyone. 3 and 4 stuck out to me in particular. But I think a lot of what she said in this video was really inspiring ❤

I wrote 80 songs for eight albums, in ten years . On Spotify etc . I’m older . The world I entered and stayed in was magical. I did not listen to female artists , not to be influenced and i basically had a lot to say . I wrote lyrics and music on quitar and piano . I was in a small independent studio and produced my songs with an incredibly talented engineer. The world of writing touches the universe. I stopped in 2019. My brain could not rewire . Pretty much lost . Writing is not an off and on switch . Hummmm . Don’t know what to say other than I miss it terribly.

I genuinely wasn't expecting to get valuable and useful advice from this video. The only reason i know who she is, is that they made fun of her on beavis and butthead. I had no idea she actually writes her own music. Weirdly i have a newfound respect for olivia rodrigo...

This really helps a lot. I have a lot of ideas for songs but I never take the time to develop them. I gotta show up in my creativity

I always tell myself, "FINISH THE SONG" which I never do, but hearing the advice from someone with understanding and talent really motivates me <3

Olivia is so gorgeous and so smart with her musical brilliance she knows what to do and how to make a good song sound so good and so relatable and even knows how to write it as a brilliant songwriter!

I'm gonna just write a song and finish it everyday for now on. I have terabytes of unfinished songs. The reason is simply because I'm afraid of being vulnerable.
