Obsession (2026) Ending Explained - Why People Are Loving This Sleeper Horror Hit!

Video Overview & Insights

Okay, can we all sit down quietly and collectively agree to how wonderful 2026 has been, for the horror fans? First, we got Hokum bringing us one of, if not, the best depictions of the witches in the Western horror cinema. Fast forward to May 15, and we got yet another highly anticipated horror film in the name of Obsession. Looks like we are going to develop a massive level of obsession with this movie too, but I have already been drooling over how amazing this movie is.

I believe the real Nikki was pulled into her own subconscious, making her a prisoner in her own body as the Nikki Bear wished for began to take over.

So weird how they list his name as Bear in the credits, when that was just a nickname and his name was Baron or Barron.

I felt horrible for Nikki but come on, who the hell would have thought that wish was going to come true, so you can't call Bear evil. He was a victim of that wish too

I always will say it was the way how he made that wish is probably why she was bat crazy.. Bear is one of the most evil villains in horror movie history

my theory : this isn't Nikki anymore , after the wish , something else , like a demon , replaced her in her own body and her true soul is in hell or some place in the inbetween , and this demon has one mission : to fulfill the wish but the problem is that this entity don't really know how to act like a normal human and act very weirdly but in the same time has to focus on its mission : loving Bear more than anything in the world , and just like a demon it seems that it feels no pain after being injured and has zero empathy toward the livings , IMHO this movie should be called POSSESSION , you know that who granted wishes in the folklore is a Genie , a Jinn in the arabic folklore , who , you guess it , is a demon : so this is a contract with a demonic entity where you sold your soul that's why the only way to break it is to die , and that why in the end of the movie when Bear dies , the contract is no more and you see the proper Nikki's soul re-enter her body again.....but they don't said it to you when they sold you those "wishes thingy" ...so the real villain here is the company selling those "ONE WISH WELLOW" thingy ....

Love the Hitchcockian cameo from Curry as the phone operator and it blew my mind that the manager of the music store was the voice of Mort from the Madagascar films

Where is the real Nikki when freaky Nikki takes over like when bear calls the number and the guy says do you wanna speak to Nikki and she’s screaming where is she that’s so bad she’s asking to be killed no explanation video has explained that

I can see why people would be confused on whether or not she is possessed.....she isn't...it's just a brand new entity that was created from the wish stick that is now inside her....think of it more so as bi polar....another personality that was created just for the guy...to only love him and only him no matter what.

pretty sure the million dollar wish came with the price of his life. And we saw it unfold in the film.

Poor Nikki 😢 I hated the 🍇 scene, my mind can't stop thinking about her and what's next to come to her maybe she will go to a mental institution not prison since what happened is her truth but anybody that didn't see it it sounds crazy so they would probably just think she's crazy

Nikki is evil, definitely the villain.

The fact that people are arguing about who the real villain was in this movie just shows the lack of literacy in the States.

Btw Bear wasn't "torn" over the cat's death, just a little sad when he found it, because he then put it in a trash bag and threw it in the garbage!! Later he was crying over Nikki, not the cat, which we know because as he was crying he said "Why can't you..." He used the cat's death as a way to try to get some sympathy from her, which caused Nikki to latch onto that once obsessed!!

I would love to see an anthology series about the one wish willow across time

Nikki was 100% the victim. Completely lost her bodily autonomy because a man was too scared to be honest about his feelings.
Every moment was against the real Nikki’s will, then she’s stuck with the ending Bear deserved and vice versa.

I would have preferred that Bear had survived in the end, and that, because of the Other Nikki's wish, they had loved each other madly for all eternity. I know he didn't want to die, but I think he deserved to suffer the same fate he inflicted on Nikki. After all, being dead frees him, while Nikki will live traumatized and possibly in prison for what she did. At that point, I don't know which was worse.

The victim was definitely Inde. She did an amazing job.

Bear has got to be one of the most evil protagonists ever man, not even in an overt “perspective of the villain” way but he’s genuinely such a terrible person the more I think about him.
