For Pax’s second set, he presents an anthology of Mexican songwriting mostly ranging from 1960s to 1980s. From Juan Gabriel to Tomás Méndez, the classic Mexican themes take form in the genre Norteño & Mariachi. Many of these songs have been reinterpreted countless times and can still be heard today, some themes include heartbreak, immigration, regional pride, as well as animated stories told in the early stages of corridos & rancheras. Musica Regional Mexicana is more popular now than ever before, take a journey to explore how it all begun and listen to the timeless & diverse songwriting that Mexico has to offer.
Mexico’s Latin Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the contributions of Latin Americans to music, art, culture, and beyond. This mix is a tribute to that legacy, offering sounds that reflect the history and spirit of our community.
