Speaking from someone who is a delivery driver a server a bartender and a manager here is exactly how I train my employees to claim their tips you look at your sales and the government requires you to claim 8% of your sales if you are paid in all cash or you have to claim all your debit tips because there's a paper trail for both if you had no debit tips and you had $500 in sales you got to claim 8% of that as the tips you made you could have made $200 in tips but the government only require you to claim 8% of that or if you had some debit card tips let's say you had $80 in debit card tips you have to claim the higher of the two your debit card tips or a percent of your sales. That is how I taught my reps to claim their tips and our business nor our reps nor myself ever got audited for doing it that way. Personally I don't think anyone who is making less than minimum wage should be taxed on tipped income. When I started at this job My wage as a server was $3.08. I believe the minimum wage at the time was $7.25. if I had my way my personal belief well what's be honest I'm a libertarian so I don't think taxes are legal I think we should have a fair tax system where everyone keeps their money and anything you purchase whether it's goods or services is just tax at 10% 6% goes to the federal government for 3% goes to state government 1% goes to county government but if I had my stay and how tipped employees were taxed is if you want to tax my hourly at at $3.08 an hour that's fine however you shouldn't be able to touch my tips or you pay me minimum wage and then you can tax both. That's always been my stance on it however not having to pay tips on taxes at all pretty much hits on the first option I proposed.

No tax on tips is a scam; it does not kick in until you make over $25000 in tips. At least that is the way it was explained to me. Or maybe that was the no tax on overtime, also a scam. Just tip in cash.

Don't tip if they ask you for a tip. I was a server and asking for a tip was considered trash behavior.

We pay our restaurant with a card and tip in cash that we give directly to the serer. They can distribute that however they want.

Not to mention, the pizza delivery driver isn’t provided with a company vehicle. They literally pay for a car to bring you your food, and by the time it’s paid off it will have so many miles they will need a new one.
Sure that’s a business expense, but in my experience, you make so little the standard deduction is always higher than going the expense or the mileage route.

You can’t compare FedEx or UPS to a food delivery person cause their pay rate is two different things. We all know if you work for the packages you make way more than if you deliver food that’s why the food people the food delivery get tips and as far as the restaurant and the people in the back, not being happy because the people in the front, the people in the back make more money than the waiters so what are you talking about? I was a waiter at an IHOP in 1991. I never reported my tips. In 1993, I got a tax bill for $193 for "unpaid tips"

Who the fuck would go sit down in a resturant these days anyway? Hell, from what I see the only people who are made to their jobs correctly are electricians. Really, seen new buildings? Falling apart right off the bat. Foundation problem, roof problems, window problems, plumbing problems you see it all but rarely wire problems. Take a step back and not UPS drivers think independent career companies.You're same day , guys. We provide a commission service where we take a portion of the individual deliveries.We work from our cars and work from our pickup trucks , we work from our minds vans... i also deliver food to certain clients.I also deal with lawyers.. i get a tip maybe once a year out of any of them.


In short, we also write off all of our gas and every basic expense that we use. So stop tipping delivery drivers , even if they deliver your fucking food...

I HATE tipping! Just pay your workers fair market value and set your prices accordingly! I'd rather not keep figuring it out. I tip based on the service I've been given, so I've not tipped a few times in my life
