Players are employees of the team. ALL employees in America are considered expendable.

Players need to stop trying to physically destroy each other on the field. The game can be played much safer if the players don’t try to blow each other up all the time.

I played d3 football and think we did a good job of balancing risk vs reward. Of course we knew that football was over for 99.999% of us after NCAA so we as players took less risk with our bodies. We truly had fun playing- I can only imagine the pressure d1 or even some d2 kids felt/feel

The lure of fame and money is strong. The truth is not being pushed hard enough by more former players to the younger ones. A 20 year old stud believes he is invincible. Some are finally realizing the sacrifice they must make to continue playing. But it is hard to give up what is possibly a large part of your identity as a person. And we all see what happens when you take a stand for yourself, or others. Stay strong gentlemen. Mentally as well as physically.

I'm here at the VA hospital right now because of football. My body is broken because of football. If I had it to do all over I wouldn't play. I've even lost the the of the game.

Yes I agree with those guys. But at the end I still think in the last 20 years that NFL is doing a better job not perfect but better. But what these guys are not talking about how in High School that they was put back out there over and over with concussion over and over. And then in college. I think we need to continue to do more research on brain scans to detect problems before they get too bad. Like there should be a brain scan to check you to enter college. And a brain scan at the NFL combine. It will be like well the guy can run a 4.0 40 yard dash have a vertical of 48 inches and have a brain of a 80 year old.

If there wasn't a market for watching people give and sustain permanent injuries this could be improved.

While the NFL has taken the necessary steps to protect the players, they haven't done enough. And they won't until they're forced to. A player's going to have to die on the field for that to take place. It almost happened with Damar Hamlin. Only a matter of time before a player doesn't make it.

That is why Trent Williams left the Commanders. He had a cancerous growth on his head that was ignored by the Commanders medical staff. I can see why the players don't trust the doctors. The NFL only cares about money. Not the well being of the players.

If certifed doctors are siding with team management vs. the well-being of the players, then they are clearly in breach of their Hippocratic Oaths.

Bruh do these people know if there is no more sport they gonna be out of a job. Why run stories like this? I am sorry for him but this is the path he chose and he knows how hard it is to play football. Not every player feel that way. Most of them will tell you they rather die on a football field.

I told a friend a while back "One of my biggest regrets of high school was not playing football for 4 years". Learning about concussions and memory loss,I'm glad I didn't.

I feel horrible for these guys but they knew what they were in for when they signed their multi million dollar contracts. The owners certainly don’t care. Greedy vs. greedier.

Let’s not forget the impact the fans have on the game. The fans don’t care about player safety. The fans want to see big hits and really don’t care when players get hurt. NFL fans can be compared to the spectators at gladiator matches of the past.

Players need to strike. All this talking ain’t gonna do a damn thing. Hurt the bottom line of the league and they will be forced to listen. While I empathize with him it’s clear that protests and statements aren’t pushing the needle

Money can only fix so much. They just cant turn down those massive contracts. At least now a days kids will be exposed to the reality of the situation before it's too late.

Anyone saying just don't play or people in other professions suffer too. That's the point if a company, organization or league knows the long term effects of their product then they should be good people and take care of those affected from using or participating said products

We are way past rubicon on this issue. High school students are signing NIL deals. We’ve prioritized entertainment over everything.
