We’ve got our hands on the all-new Mustang GT, and it’s about to go head-to-head against a BMW M2 Competition!
On paper, the two of these cars look pretty evenly matched, but will it play out like that over the quarter-mile? Let’s take a closer look.
Why was the Mustang not in drag mode and automatic. Let the 10 speed do its work! Leave the paddle shifters alone.
Starting with the M2, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six that can produce 480hp and 600Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels only, and the car weighs in at 1,805kg. When new, an M2 Competition would cost around £63,000.
As for the Mustang, it’s packing a glorious-sounding 5-litre naturally-aspirated V8. In the UK, the only Mustang you can buy puts down 453hp and 540Nm. However, we’ve got our hands on a US import, meaning the car we have here produces 486hp and 567Nm! Just like the M2, the power is sent to the rear wheels only, and the car weighs 1,738kg. In the US the Mustang costs $45,000, but if you’re looking to buy one in the UK, the price increases to £55,700!

@mdixon26288I had a scat pack challenger stock , just a better cold air intake and a BMW whipped me pretty good from.about 65 to 120 mph , but not as bad as he whopped that stang , i got out in front for a sec , then il admit , that beamer came by me , i gotta stang now 6sp , i love it , but the scat felt a lityle more powerful

@anitaferrante3877I looked in google ther is a ratio for comparinf na to turbo cars, and its 1.4-1.7 so the bmw supposed to compare to a 5,2L car
