Cybercab will be level 4 for years. Level 4 means it can only drive in a geofenced area with restrictions. Unless removable or attachable steering wheels are included there will be no way to drive this car outside the approved areas. It needs the steering wheels for the consumer to buy this car.

Considering 1,000 Cybercabs have rolled off the line since April and ZERO of them are in the fleet, the announcement gordamn well better be about them starting to bring in some cash. If Elon backtracked and released cybercab with steering wheel and pedals, that would instantly be taken as an admission autonomous isn't quite there, and it's going to be a while for them to get it that last little bit. Therefore, they have to do something with this new production line in the interm. That is how I would assess it.

I bought more Tesla last week at $375. I do own SpaceX from IPO and some after. Not financial advice, but I believe that there is far greater upside to Tesla especially with a merger/acquisition announcement than owning SpaceX with the unlocking shares over the next 6 months causing downward pressure.
