I refuse to buy a car without buttons and knobs from a safety perspective. Trying to change aircon with your hand floating across a screen is just ridiculous. You aren't allowed to text and drive yet they expect you to reach across to look at and interact with a screen while driving. BMW cutting corners where it matters most. Plus they use cheap plastics with parts of the car you interact with. Count me out

i m 66 have had a bimmer every decade sunce the 70s and they have always been quite good ! They are a pleasure to drive and adequate for every dimension of real world driving

It looks great refreshing. Electric will be fast abd for everyone else thats not a formula 1 driver (in their mind) it will fill just fine

I love the exterior , the paint color , steering wheel, dash , and the head rests . Hopefully we can spec it with the light blue color seats. Left BMW for Mercedes was looking at the M4 convertible but will wait for this:)

The new design is atrocious. BMW just devalued their entire line. I may have to switch to a different automaker in the future.

The one thing you can't get away from is the steering wheel in a car, you have to look at it. And that monstrosity looks like the designer let his seven year old son at his own childhood meccano set and said, make me a steering wheel from that. It's practically Homer Simpsonesque. 😂

The old i3 was a game changer and should be reintroduced… this is just another version of the 3 series to fill in more gaps in the range that never existed.

If you want an electric car I suggest you wait. It’s developing that quickly you won’t recognise it in two years time. This car eclipses the IXthree in terms of range and that hasn’t really hit the showroom yet. Hold tight and don’t jump in too quickly.

It’s crazy how Porsche and bmw have figured out that they have to sell ice and electric models alongside each other….
Other companies who created seperate and started all new models/lineup and forgone / discontinued their heritage models are struggling to come back with an a like 4 like competitive model……they are now playing catchup trying to bring back heritage models with next to zero budget…..ie Mercedes and somewhat Audi…

Actually I like the design better than I imagined, except I wouldn't buy it as it's too little too late. BMW was the ultimate driving machine back in the 90s, now it's just an overpriced polarizing design, that's it.

2018 i3 owner here. WTF is this travesty. I'll assume the brief was to remove everything that made the original i3 special.

I don't like the exterior design (yet?), but I really hate the interior. It's too modern or so, not cosy, I hate the steering wheel design and I want some buttons and the iDrive controller back. I do like the panoramic vision and the specs are also very good.

Thats kinda mix of retro bmw design with futuristic car. It look unique, but I wouldn't say UGLY. If the M3 version is coming with a manual shifting transmission and with Simulating Engine, thats very interesting to see how it'll handle

The new i3 proportion is off, the mid part is to high or the car is to short. The car is not streamline. The front lights will not be popular like the beaver grill. We need the kidney grill back.
