Netflix Reptile Movie Top 10 Biggest Blunder Explained

Video Overview & Insights

Netflix Reptile Movie Top 10 Biggest Blunder Explained. Reptile is one of Netflix's most intriguing original movies, but the whodunit has almost as many questions as it has answers to its main mystery.

There’s no answers in this movie. It’s really dissatisfying

It was showing how life is... We cannot tell anything/everything all at once... Life too unfolds itself with each step... Sometimes we are saved by our intuition and sometimes luck...

This is what I really liked about the movie that it seemed to unfold like a real life... Like some critics said that one or two scenes could have been avoided, however, I feel that in life too, not everything a Cop/Detective searches will definitely be related to a case...! He has to go through many paths, some correct and some dead leads...

Tom trusted the Cheif WAYYYY too easily. If Allen didn't save him, Tom was finished.

Must be a lot of paid reviews or bots on here. It was an absolute mess of a movie. Probably one of the worst Ive seen this year. I gave it a 0/10.

Too many things do not add up in this movie. People writing good reviews are either morons or bots. I can’t come up with any other explanation.

That doesn't make any logic? Is this guy a robot??

Why didnt the director care the audience got any closure on Cleary's guilt or innocence? Movie didnt show anything ~ mostly told the audience...lazy. Style over substance.

Loved the feeling of tension and danger between these characters, film was done with great execution

I really enjoyed this film… I loved the pacing, tone, and underscoring.. has elements of a horror film that meets the first true detective… it’s awkwardness and loose ends gave me the feeling of a 1970’s indie noir! You felt like any minute throughout the film the shoe was gonna drop. Good job for first time feature for music video director, Grant Singer… All the performances were solid too… Benicio is always good… Nice to see Alicia Silverstone back. And Justin … great too. If you like who dunits ?… this picture is for you.

Thought it was a very good thriller, the plot is loosely based on the Buziak murder in Canada. I thought the acting and writing were great. I have seen some reviews calling it confusing. I wasn't confused at all the ending was very straightforward. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who likes true crime or a slow-burn mystery. It was also cool to see Benicio and Alicia working together again after 26 years.

What a movie! Absolutely love the casting, Alicia Silverstone such a sweetheart but any movie with Benicio Del Toro in it won't leave you disappointed. I do enjoy his character, a few scenes show he likes nice things too, his not just a cop who eat, sleeps, breathes the job but also appreciates nice things.

I couldn't go to bed without finishing this movie. Well done 👏

Really good film. Ignore the ‘experts’ mediocre rating reviews. This is a cracking noir thriller full of suspense which builds up nicely to the grand finale.

Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone in particular really nailed their parts as husband & wife.

Some of the story build up in the first half of the movie is a little lost in the latter, as a few of the seemingly important characters no longer have any involvement. On the whole though it’s a solid movie with a satisfying ending.

Found the pacing fine, steady whilst keeping you engaged and the second half really ramps up the suspense.

Good acting and a decent story. Well worth a watch.

I LOVED this movie. Murder mysteries are my favorite and this one ranks way up there. I loved Benicio del Toro; I thought he carried the film. Alicia Silverstone and he were believable as husband and wife and it was enjoyable to watch that sub plot of the movie. This movie had a lot going on as the detectives worked to solve the murder. The music was unique and added to the tenseness throughout. I thought it was an overall really great film from start to the very last moment.

I’m not one to write reviews but I had to come here to say that this was 100% worth watching. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I loved how the plot progressed into something bigger than anticipated. The mysteries get solved along the way if you (the viewer) can read between the lines. The creativity in which the writers subtly do this is immaculate.

The reviews saying that this movie was boring or sucked probably took everything at face value and wanted the answers delivered via an obvious silver platter.

Benicio Del Toro is phenomenal in this. It is beautifully shot, ominous and enthralling to watch. The sound is incredible and adds to the quiet yet jarring suspense. While I will say that this film is slow and long, it’s worth the watch. I couldn’t keep my eyes of the screen and a sense of loss and relief after it was over - not in the way you would think. Del Toro definitely caries the film and some of the other characters don’t feel quite rounded in comparison - but I found myself not caring about that as the story progressed and the realization of the plot set in. It’s not about the other people as much as it is about one man’s true character and willingness to tell the truth. As Grant Singer’s first directorial feature debut I am impressed and I look forward to his future work - he has so much potential and it is clearly demonstrated in this film.

Loved this movie, actually plan to watch it again. Incredible screen chemistry between Silverstone and Del Toro. Fantastic characterization, these people feel real and lived in. Sneaky, suggestive editing that keeps you guessing. Slow simmering build — it’s not an in your face over the top thriller, it creeps up on you (like a reptile)… and leaves you thinking about it long after it has ended. Though it definitely has some chilling moments, this is not a movie that’s going to disturb you so deeply you cannot sleep afterwards — and I appreciate that. Folks are dissing the movie saying it’s trying to be too many things and that it leaves plot points unresolved; but that’s actually how life is! I appreciate any movie that is more than just its genre. Lots of humor and little easter eggs left to hypothesize on, which makes it fertile for debate after the credits role.

This movie had me intently from beginning to end. The performances from all 3 main characters were some of their best work! Benicio is so captivating all throughout. I wanted more and didn't want it to end. I immediately looked up other movies directed by Grant Singer only to find out he directs music videos and this seems to be his first full length fictional motion picture. I will definitely be watching and waiting for more to come from him. Excellent film just absolutely SUPERB - loved the slow burn and lack of dramatics. Soooo sooo goood!!!!

Some thrillers coast on mood.

Reptile slowly drowns in it!

Reptile often mistakes mood for character development.

For nearly two-and-a-half hours, this plodding murder mystery sustains a single note of hushed unease.

Every scene has the same vibe, a pinprick of vague dread amplified by the low hum of what the Netflix subtitles refer to as "tense music."

A man walking into a building? Ominous.

A couple dancing at a bar? Ominous.

A detective admiring an automatic kitchen faucet? Believe it or not, that's ominous too!

Because the film never strays from this atmosphere of impending doom, it quickly loses it’s persuasiveness, like a boy crying wolf one too many times!

Incredible acting amidst a detective murder mystery which unfolds slowly with little pockets of the story that keep appearing throughout to keep you right alongside the good guy’s investigation. Plus little bits of story that make it actually funny or humorous and sexy in a non-obvious manner. No hot lips, no bloody scenes and so on. Well told and done in an intelligent manner. So good and different. New light in the approach with bits of familiar but still unexpected and fresh, new. Love it with acting talents beyond what one knows and expects. I would even at times forget their identity like of all people Justin Timberlake who blew me away, Benicia del Toro and graced by the incredible acting skills demonstrated by Alicia Silverstone, aforementioned and actors, big and small throughout pulled it finely together. Feels like you are right there, in it, like we like it, I like it. It got into and under my skin and I loved every bit of it. Thank you with an…Amen!
