Idk how I just saw this. I wish I would have saw this seen this back on Feb 15th 2009. This would have changed my whole path on life. But, I didn't and that is ok. We were together total of 8 years, 1 of the years we were married. It was fun. I was a few years older, out of college and she was in college. I played in a band with her friends boyfriend, at the time. A lot of fun but I didn't know anything about communication. She joined the roller derby, they call it Derby Divorce, and she found herself. I knew she didn't have a lot of friends in high school, and she felt accepted. I was a heavy drinker. I never did anything to cause harm but when we went out I would never stop. Then she would have to drive. She would have to do this and that. And it starts over the next day. I didn't drink every night but when I I was going for the high score, if you get the refference, and just tbe the most fun and outgoing version of myself. Years later I realized I am that person without the alchohol.
Did Valentines Day, which was fine, and the next day I said lets do more date nights and then she started to cry.
Everything is off in your head. Chaos and more chaos.
In reality, it was for the best. We would have been those bored couples you feel sorry for in restaurants. But I understand she just was unsure because she is doing this thing she loved. At the end, our roles reversed. She would be going out to the bars and I be staying home.
But all of this might sound the worst thing but it wasn't. It allowed me to learn and grow into a better person. Don't rush after a divorce. Sometimes we need to go deep within. It took me 17 years but I finally made it. I am finally free.

The only reason Jesus permits divorce is for adultery. Everything else like abuse is better handled with separation.

Terrible advice Mr. Goggins. I've been married to the same woman for 36 years. We've been through battles. In the end there's much less heartache in working through your troubles than in divorce. You're tied to that person for life regardless of what you do. Don't bitch out. Make it work. If she walks, go after her.
