I think several things he’s saying her are a given. Remove distractions, prime yourself, etc.
The one thing I’ll never see myself doing though is doing mind maps or non linear note taking (or note taking in general).
If the point here is that it’s to make connections between information, I’d argue the same can be achieved with Anki. Anki has ways of adding context. Decks, tags, extra fields, and addons that actually bring zettelkasten to Anki.
There’s an addon called the note linker where you can link flashcards to each others. Same idea as a mind map where you link information together. The difference is in Anki you can link as much as you want. You can also add images and other text for additional context and information
Anki is only bad for context and linking if you use it vanilla.
It’s also way faster to crank out some flashcards and the process of actually making them is very effective for internalizing the information.
Of course none of this even mentions active recall and spaced repetition, neither of which you get with mind maps or note taking unless you make a conscious effort to review them in intervals and don’t just read your mind maps or note taking.
At the end of the day though, with flashcards or non linear note taking, it’s just content review. Content review only gets you so far.
The number one most important thing is practice. Actually being able to apply what you learned. I honestly don’t think it matters a whole lot if you just use Anki solely for content review or if you take notes. What matters is can you take that information and apply it.
What I then do is take my incorrect answers or wha I don’t know and then make more flashcards based on that. Then review those. That’s all I’ve been doing for 4 years and I ended college with a 4.0

When I watch your videos, I get a headache. Not because of why you tell, but how you do so. 1) Don't talk with so much stress on every word in every sentence. It makes listening burdensome. 2) Work on your camera zoom. Flashing and flashing out, creates a visual stress. 3) Keep it short and not theoretical. Use a common modern day example, and build your model over it. People will learn with a 'connection' i.e. you will make a schema.

I don't think we should complicate studying this much. While focusing on outcomes is great, studying itself should be kept short and simple. We just need to focus on good encoding and spaced retrieval. That's really all it takes — there's no need to overcomplicate every little detail.

@AarizzHussainYou need to give more examples relating to subjects you want us to use these tricks for. For example for the mind mapping stuff you could do an example with us on paper and day your thoughts out loud
