The Latin Mass is still offered in many, many areas - The excommunications are not the result of the Latin Mass, they are the result of blatant disrespect to the authority of the Holy Father via unauthorized ordinations after being emphatically told by the successor of Peter, NOT to proceed. The SSPX excommunicated themselves with their disobedience. Without Papal authority, those ordinations are invalid.

To accept the new church is blasphemy- this is the the Mass of the saints! Not to say holy Catholics don’t exist outside of TLMs, but encourage them to attend. Understand that 2 generations of Christians have not been well catechized .. this is a serious threat to their souls! Pray much for holiness within the church.

It's a beautiful mass....but I can see why they changed it to a more participatory service with call and response....as long as there are options for people see these type of services I think thats important

@EmmashfulNot only did Pope Francis restrict the Latin Mass, he has indicated (not stated outright) that the Latin Mass is bad, it's not inclusionary (whatever that means), and it's a sin to attend! Why is the Pope leading his flock astray? His reasoning: so that everyone will accept the decisions made at Vatican II.
@marmeoneLatin Mass was not always sung. We had daily mass at boarding school and it was not sung. I’m 80 and grew up with it. I think we have to be willing to change and not to be stubborn. It is beautiful but it is all hidden as the priest has his back to the people. The new Mass has the people partaking with the priest.

@juliosesar596I went to this church long time ago when i was in chicago studying. I miss the latin mass. Am in Malaysia and the novus ordo is too noisy with digital piano and electric guitar. I cannot really focus during mass.
@michellet3887I don't know if it is correct to call lucky to any city or parish that have the opportunity of having the Latin Mass, as far as I know, here in Bolivia, there is no parish with a Latin Mass celebration, not even once a year, it is sad, even though I know my grandparents assisted to it before Vatican II.

I have attended several Latin Masses and don't enjoy them at all. The NO mass allows us to participate fully, praising God in song and word. The Mass does need to continue to develop, allowing more time for silence. But TLM takes the silence too far. There is no community, no shared praise in TLM.

@wolfstar675This is what is called a Sung Mass. My understanding is that every Traditional Latin Mass Parish has a Sung Mass in their Mass Schedule every Sunday. At least the FSSP Parishes do.

@mangili.giuseppeI have a question. How many of you are aware of Pope Leo XIV? Well here’s what I’ve learned about him and that is he was known as Robert Francis Provost and he born and raised in the state of Illinois and he was a member of the Augustinian order. And even though he was recruited by Pope Francis, he has his own views and ideas in the Catholic faith and the celebration of the mass. So I often times question him but I pray for him every day during my rosary.

@shanehughes3I firmly believe there is room for the TLM and NO. Sometimes the soul craves this. Even in this video I get a sense of leaving the world for a moment, to refresh before returning. It’s unfortunate that this was “locked away” for so long.
