Mick Jagger (Full Episode) | Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend
Video Overview & Insights
Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger feels rather anxious about being Conan O’Brien’s friend.
This is a career high that'll be hard to match. I really enjoyed the conversational chat, your genuine interest, along with Mick's candor & humility.
Mick sits down with Conan to discuss the Stones’ 25th studio album Foreign Tongues, his six-decade (and counting) career at the forefront of rock music history, friendly competition with the likes of David Bowie and John Lennon, and finding ways to live in the moment while continuing to draw from the past.

So... why weren't Sonja and Matt there? Because Mick is very particular about who is in his presence.

wtf with that long table? looks like the dinner scene in Batman
@JackKnight762Interesting difference without Sona and Gurley. There was no bits which seems like he uses them to entertain them and the viewers. It was more serious conversation which was great. Both ways are great. And here he makes a little more eye contact with Jagger. He usually talks to the guests looking in Sona’s direction but here he still looks ahead but looks at Jagger.
And I’ve said it many times that these podcasts a so great because you see people in a different light other than you normally see and this one was no exception. I have a new view of Jagger that I didn’t before which was more negative. He’s great.
Elvis did more country in the later years of his life.
@Jimmie_RFantastic!
@danmullinMick says much of America wasn't ready for the Stones in 1964. I think the Kinks would like a word, too.
@mister_vegasI enjoyed this very much though the NY Times interview was deeper and more interesting. Jagger seems slightly more relaxed around Conan
@slimturnpikeFantastic conversation. Thank you!, both of you, for doing this, for us.
@pa-moDoes Conan still deride the Stones as the world's most successful three chord band?
@marcusbrooks4027The amount of ads YouTube is pumping now is sickening.
@Nolanthegardenerthis was an amazing exchange from these two - they talk on the same level. Conan was not doing any bits, it was two very intelligent men having a casual no expectations conversation … riveting. ( like a teenage sleepover )
@janmarieharrington7296Great interview!
@jasonh1971Conan dude, let the man speak. We'd much rather him tell stories than you.
@cambrie7946Do you think maybe Conan had a gummie or two? He seems incredibly relaxed.
@kangfesherThis was great👏👏👏
@lachauntiswashington231Changing of the new real sheriff in town that is not Friggan Lucifer. The Stones and others were just going along to what was normal. And people loved it
@johnforan2973Great conversation. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for making it happen!
@CharlieTWilburyPS: Absolutely award winning, historic interview. Of course there were some talking points, but this is such an intelligent, immersive, memorable conversation.
@michaeldonovan3959NOTTTTT FUNNNNYYYY
@jaredmclaren5571Old. Very well over the hill, a total has been who only relies on his past glory. On the other hand Mick Jagger, a class act and a legend.
@PablittoxI think mick is humble guy
@cleoregia11038:04 NOT FUNNY!!!
@productdesign9626If you had veered into economics, Mick could've talked on that awhile as well.
#NotAStereotypicalRocker
This is hands down the best interview I've watched so far this year. Thanks Conan.
@Yolo530-f7yHOLY CRAP
@geofffitz1497MICK JAGGER?!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO "MAKE THE ROUNDS" ANY MORE MY MAN!
I dunno, just my initial take. I'm about to watch.
Conan Needs A Mick
@dennisboegel1786Someone told Conan about body language and to open up your body to seem in charge. He seems to have taken it to heart. His arms must be tired.
@barriesiemek6887An interviewer is poor when they speak more than the interviewee.
@BlahBlahBlah1971Mick Jagger having a good time doing new record promo at this point in history is really great to see. Clearly he and Conan have a great rapport. Well done Team Coco.
@michaeldonovan3959Gotta say Mick's first time on SNL doing skits was as classic as his music. Brilliantly funny! Been waiting for this one! BTW, I also love Foreign Tongues. What a gift to all Stones fans! I have a Conan decoder...Ron's awful jokes must be wicked funny, if perhaps a bit odd.
@AudioFileZMick Jagger cheated on his wife on his wedding night. Yikes. 😮
@tennissir19865 minutes of intro is a bit much...BORING...
@huangwon1371I grew up in the 90s and the Stones were constantly played in my house. Got to watch the DirectTV free concert in 97, and was gifted the Bridges to Babylon cassette for Christmas that year. Mick is just too awesome.
@LexiconDevilOn their first US tour the Stones played Reggie's Danceland in MPLS. Guys would go there to fight on weekends. I met a dude who said he walked in the door and this group of teen thugs was pushing this thin outsider around their circle and suddenly they shoved him and he landed right in front of him. It was Mick Jagger. The day before they went to see Muddy Waters at Chess in Chicago. Different times.
@slimzimm1031Falsetto just sounds dopey to me. Sorry, Barry, but it does. Always will.
@swannoirSir Mick is so calm and relaxed! Good interview! 🥰
@MsJanetWoodBecause his ego is not big enough, he must be stroked with that intro…..
