It's not even a question why Jews rejected Jesus; even modern Christian evangelicals rejected Jesus as well.

There are three greatest theories of Jesus:
1) He is materially a failure; therefore, he is spiritually victorious, so he died for your sins, and anyone who believes in him is saved. Yes, it's the biggest profitable sale, so Europeans put their sins on his back to colonize the world and get the upper hand throughout it. But it became a failure in the end since so-called democracy won in the West, so no more colonies were possible, and Jesus became a mythical figure for them.

2) The second theory of Jesus is materially victorious. This Jesus is the Messiah of the Jews, since the real Jesus failed to be materially successful, even though his spiritual success somehow made Europeans materially successful by colonizing the world. Since they don't fear sin because he died for their sins, Jews didn't get the benefit of that Christian materialism because the church created a theory of replacement, which says that the church replaced the Jews. This is further proof of why Jews never accepted Jesus; rather, they wait for a Messiah who is materially victorious for them. That is why Zionism was created to facilitate the process of his coming, and even Christian Zionists joined the movement, since the Jesus who died for sins is now mystified, so they can't gain more materialism by his name. Therefore, they have to shift their goal to the new Jewish Messiah to occupy more land in Gaza, Amalekite them, and go on to Lebanon and the surrounding areas.

3)The third theory of Jesus is the eschatological Jesus, who really is the Messiah and the same as the historical Jesus. But that Jesus can't save someone from sins so that we can go and colonize someone's property, nor is he an actual military leader who occupies lands. He only comes to kill the Antichrist and correct religion. He is totally uninfluenced by materialism, just as he was in history when he was so contemptuous of money. That's the Islamic Jesus.

Jesus came right on time of the Daniel 9: 25 seventy weeks prophesy. The command to restore and build Jerusalem given by Artaxerxes in 455 BC to Nehemiah and recorded in book of Nehemiah. 69 weeks of 7 years until Messiah the Prince. 7 years x 69 = 483 years. No year zero between BC and AD comes to 27 AD which is when Jesus started his ministry. 3 years later crucified on a Wednesday Passover in 30 AD in grave 3 days and 3 nights the sign of Jonah. Resurrected before dawn Sunday on feast of first fruits. Notice in Daniel 9 he is called the Prince because he doesn’t reign over the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords until his second coming. Israel coming back and regaining its land is a sign we are getting closer to end of the church age because there needs to be a throne of David for Jesus to sit on, Isaiah 9: 6-7 and Luke 1: 31-33. Israel will possess its lands before his coming (obadiah 1: 15-21) and Edom will be a big problem up till then.

It is very easy - they reject Jesus for the same reason you reject Muhammad and Joseph Smith. Actually, it is even clearer:

you ask a person to change everything written in his holy book and the way of life he lived for 1300 years because several people say they saw someone arise from the dead and did some miracles and said he is their new/old God who also explicitly said before in the Bible that he is one, that he has no image and not to worship Him with any image and not to change anything of the hundreds of comandments even if a person is doing miracles to prove that.

Later on, these people interpret some extremely vague, out of context, sentences in this holy book (which they apropriated to themselves) ignored all the clearly stated hundreds of commands and promises not to change this covenant and claimed these sporadic, bizzare, very unclear sentences are the locus of the holy book and claimed they are the real people the holy book talks about while the actual ones who did exactly what the book told them are false. They later persecuted, slaughtered and demonized your people for 1600 years in the name of this ressurected person and then you ask them to believe in him
