When does a football player stop being just a football player?
When I started this Youtube channel nearly 10 years ago it was in the wake of Leo’s traumatizing loss at the 2014 World Cup final. Back then the prospect of Messi being able to win the ultimate prize felt like an impossible dream, that he missed his one shot at eternal glory. The Copa final losses that followed made the feeling that he was cursed even stronger, and after the disastrous image at the 2018 World Cup it seemed like the very end of the dream. Seeing Messi lift the golden cup was always just going to be an image made in Photoshop, on FIFA career mode or simply in your mind.
And as a Messi-obsessed youtuber I wished of nothing more than to make my ultimate video with the dream ending of a World Cup victory.
When I got a full time job at a Swedish broadcasting company in 2021 to edit football content for a living I more or less left this Youtube channel behind and it seemed that the World Cup video would stay just a dream. But on December 18th 2022 I was on the floor in one of the company’s editing rooms, crying, hardly able to continue working on a short recap of Messi’s career that was supposed to be airing straight after the final, with the World Cup as the crowning moment.
And today, with a little more time and consideration than that short recap I am proud to release my dream video. Very inspired by Denis Villeneuve’s incredible Dune films and featuring my friend Kannan Vaidyanath’s stunning title graphics, this is my most carefully created but also last ever Youtube video.
I want to thank all you who have watched and supported me over the years, much love to you and I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful following. And who knows, a certain teenager might just have to push me out of retirement eventually…

Los medios periodísticos son carniceros y me acuerdo las cosas que decían. AHORA CREO, que mejor que se retire ahora en mejor momento!!!!. Messi the man , the myth , the magic. in 2014- " when I get older I'll be stronger , they called me freedom just like a weaving flag" this song was only written for him. A 39 years old man a unbelievable man , who is again waiting for his paradise moment. I don't know what will happen tomorrow but I believe that Messi never disappoint his lovers also football lovers too.
