It's the other way around for us. I'm from Georgia and she's from Tennessee. I was raised in Georgia for the first 13 years of my life until a tragic hydroplaning accident took my mom's life. My parents had already divorced at that point due to my dad's affair. My siblings and I were living with our mom visiting our dad's on the weekends. Our stepmother (the one my dad was having an affair with) hated our guts so my siblings and I got split up after the car accident. My siblings went in and out of foster homes while I went to go live with a relative in Tennessee. My aunt taught me what southern hospitality is all about lol (i.e. homemade sweet tea, fried chicken, grits, greens, etc). We never had that growing up. I've called Tennessee home ever since then. 10 years later a chance encounter dropped a woman in front of me who would later go on to be my wife. My wife grew up in a family that never got to do fun things as a kid due to their family's limited income situation. We can relate to this song now more than ever because she's getting to do things she was never able to do as a kid. She can proudly say she's been to all 48 states by the age of 21. She never really got to eat out, attend a concert, attend a fair, go to the movies, or even attend a Vols game in person (yeah I know a crying shame living in Tennessee your whole life 😢). We'll be celebrating 10 years together this year and we're planning on spending the next few years doing things she never got to do as a kid
