Maurice Clarett | Ohio State Highlights (UPDATED!)
Video Overview & Insights
Updated highlights of Maurice Clarett's magical 2002 season at Ohio State. I added the Kent State and Northwestern games from the original reel, and hopefully made the video cuts a bit smoother. Clarett was a special player, and helped push the Buckeyes over the top that season making all sorts of plays, including the famous strip of Sean Taylor in the National Championship game. Clarett was one of a kind, and I hope this reel does justice to just how good he was. Enjoy!

Tons of respect for Maurice! He came to our church back in 2013 and told his testimony, he also took a photo with me and my nephew. I love watching this guy's highlights and that older style of football from years ago of him!

Shoutout to @steelbuck6777 for a lot of these cuts! Subscribe to their channel, and check out all the great CFB content!
To treat someone like that after they just won a national championship for you as a true freshman just is another example how dark the commercial system is

MC... Shoot the med ball like a basketball
@dw3808We need to make a petition to bring back Jim Tressel
@Remix-g8eMaurice the beast was a great talent but a stupid person , He did win a national championship for Ohio but then the Idiot took on the NFL . HE lost them he robbed so people in Columbus where everyone knows who he is and then ti prison.
@TonyGluichYeah he was 100% RAW!! And had the prefect style of running for the NFL. Damn if he had his head straight
@22NiggaPleaseRan like THE GREAT JIMMY BROWN.
@robertkoth4022Life goes on but man I miss 2003.

@1SonTMONTWhat happened? Why didnât he go pro?
@heavyizthacrown-5842He looks like Emmitt SmithâŠthatâs the best comparison
@ANDDIRECTLLCHe was so exciting to watch⊠what could have been if things didnât go the way they did for him. Was happy to see him on the sidelines at the Championship game
@str8upndown856He was so good. Itâs too bad he got wrapped up in the wrong crowd and got bad advice. He could have been the best running back in OSU history or in the top 3, easy.
@joepompeo9339Context for the young Buckeye fans:
MC was as good as a freshman as Jeremiah Smith (but at running back).
And that Miami team that the Buckeyes defeated for the title was arguably the best roster in college football history.
Tressel stunned the world with his football genius. And MC was just built different. Classic!
One of the best running back in ohio state history!
@FrankSlaughter-k9nThe strip against the hurricanes has got to be one of the top five all time for Ohio State plays, it literally changed the gameđșđžđ
@matthewcritchfield6997Clarett, JJ and Pace 3 greatest freshman I've ever seen.
@davidw9909𫥠Maurice Clarett đȘđŸ O-H-I-O đđ.
@davegoolsby3236Clearly too slow to be successful in the NFL. Pretty good college back though.
@MH-0101why does this 2002 footage look like it's from 1982?
@polloi84Jim was a hell of a coach
@PatrickMosley-c2dHe was a beast
@PatrickMosley-c2dThat ain't a 4.7 in the 40yd dasH....someone's lying
@user-ug4qd5kb8hI was at that texas A&M game. everyone around me(including me) knew MC was going to be special.
@jimf1421I can't remember the whole story but I remember when he sued the NFL and he lost. In the NFL he was careless he didn't care too much he was drunk and that's why Denver cut him. He was really good at Ohio State but there's a lot of good Ohio State players. It seems like when he went to the NFL he didn't care too much and did whatever he wanted to do. I know he went to prison I think he had guns in his car or something he did a robbery or something and went to prison. But if he got his life together and he's a different person now a lot of people don't change. It takes too much effort for somebody to change they can just be the same. But if he changed and he's a new person good for him.
@EddieG-x2gwhat a great athlete he was, shame the university threw him under the bus after all he did for them....im glad ryan day is bringing him back, clarett now a member of 2 ohio state national championship teams
@JimmyFred321STRAIGHT D O G
@abdulsmith9434I still think he would have won the Heisman if he stayed at OSU and not try to go to the NFL draft after his freshman season
@ramtruck21Maurice clarett muscled Sean Taylor 3xđź in this game and all 3 were highlights. The strip after the interception was game changing.
@SUPREME0927The best block reader to ever hit the OSU campus. Maurice Clarrett!!
@AnidawehiHe had all 5 linemen coming back from a 14-0 team. Stay off the Grey Goose! đ«Ł
@JL-ec1byHe made teen numbers popular
@bigghowwHe was that good ,,,,but we t prison after that he was not same player
@gargoylz-c1iWe could use another RB like him again ,,,he was fantastic ,,sad how it turned out for him .he was extreme talented .
@gargoylz-c1iThat play taking the ball from Taylor was the reason they won the natty
@shaunl9777One of the best years of my life..went to the OSU campus with some high school buddies when we played Michigan..it was an all night party đâ€đ©¶
@geor1717He sure led with his head on every run....makes you wonder.
@magnuscroifyPower - tuff - excellent speed.
@selfaware114The âwhat if?â questions were answered when Clarett changed his life around after prison and changed millionâs lives including myself! He wowed us at the Horse Shoe, especially the win against Miami. Now, heâs an inspiration to many of us. I wish him all the best Back At The Shoe! Welcome back Mr. Legend!
@HopeBlooms-o8oHere for MC after watching him on It is what it is podcast. Surprised he didn't get the MVP still till this day
