@thesmartestofallbirdsTonight and for the last few weeks I've been sleeping on a porch. It's the rainy season, intermittently boiling hot and storming. I'm here with my pets. I've been so angry in my soul. So sad. It's Saturday night and no one else is home. My future is uncertain. My present feels like a cold waiting room with uncomfortable chairs and no privacy. I turned this on. And suddenly i know that someday i will paint this porch and talk about the birds that put on a show day and night beyond the screen, and the rain, and my pets cuddled up beside me, everything a bit dirty, a bit stinky. I'll talk about how the sun sets at just the right angle to blind me and how the neighbors lights flicker all night. And it will be good. A nice, romantic part of my life falling apart and being put back together. A lovely little intermission filled with the smell of grass and birds chirping and thunderstorms. I'll laugh about how angry and silly i was, how miserable i was at first, and then I'll turn it into something avant garde and brave and powerful. And I'll wish I'd done more. Danced even though people could see me. Made something. Hugged my pets just a little more. So often we're so busy hating where we are when the reality is that it's all part of who we are becoming. The waiting, the worrying, the wondering, the tears i cry into a dirty pollen coated porch pillow. ๐ life is broken and beautiful and this moment isnt perfect but it's mine, and it's interesting, and it's something i will tell people about with an odd nostalgia because we never appreciate things when we're going through them. They never make sense until we're passed them. Or until we're listening to lofi and trying to sleep ๐ if you expected everything that happened would you really be happy? Or is it okay once in a while if life throws you a curveball?
