Today, I'm going to show you how to make Japanese Curry, which has been praised as one of the most delicious dishes in the world! In this recipe, you'll enjoy a special curry that highlights rich flavors and delightful taste. In this video, I will carefully explain each step so that anyone can make delicious Japanese Curry. So let's master the art of creating the tastiest curry that is considered the best in the world!
Today, I'm using this recipe to make this Japanese curry for my family, this is our first time to eat Japanese curry and it was sooooo DELICIOUS✨!!! All I wanted to say is THANK U FOR SHARING THE RECIPE💕✨!!! I'm gonna use this recipe forever✨!!!
◎Japanese Curry Ingredients:
・100g of carrots
It's cafeteria food at best. I'm not sure about the claim of most popular meal in the world. Maybe; if the world consisted on a couple of islands. No disrespect, but Japanese curry tastes nothing like the awesome curries from Thailand or Malaysia or India. By the way I just finished making it for the heck of it.
・2~3 potatoes
・1 onion
Thank you very much, but the problem is that im in Nigeria will I be able to get the golden curry box 😢
・300g of pork belly
・3 cloves of garlic
Just made it..and it was great! Thank you!!❤
・10g of ginger
・700ml of water ( or Cooking sake 120ml & Water 580ml )
I've also heard of using red apple as well, what is your opinion and when would it be added?
・Curry roux ( 4 blocks )
・10g of butter
i don't have worcestershire sauce here in my country, is it fine to skip it?
・½ teaspoon of sugar
・½ tablespoon of worcestershire sauce
Its called "Kooray" .
・2 tablespoons of ketchup
・Salt
sometimes i'll go a little crazy and add in frozen peas at the end for more fiber
・cooked rice
※Please watch this video to learn how to cook rice in a pot.
Takes me 15 mins to simmer, also I added extra veggies like Brussels sprouts also a lot of carrots, then added 2 tsp of sugar and add a lot of garlic slices it taste a lot better this time

For real… Ketchup? Hell no! Make your own tomato sauce! Buy a can of tomato sauce! Definitely don’t use no damn ketchup!🤦🏼♂️
◎Topping
・cheese
Cauliflower is also very good subbed in for the potato. I've even made this vegetarian using chickpeas instead of meat and then adding frozen peas toward the end of the simmer time.
・Tonkatsu

I was lucky to get different sorts of japanese curry blocks. I followed the recipe more or less, but I had no meat and made it with yellow turnip instead and added a little bit of homemade kombu/mushroom dashi to it. It was really tasty ^^ I could also imagine to add a little splash of soy or oat milk for making it even creamier and kinda balancing everythin a little more out. Didn't test it yet.

I made this, first time having japanese curry. Bought the medium spice, always imagined this dish as insanely flavorful. It was extremely bland, in a good way, but not at all what I expected.. Just tastes like gravy with some curry. I used chuck roast cubes instead of bacon though.

I’ve been around global cuisines my whole adult life and never heard of a “Japanese curry” until recently, where it’s suddenly showing up everywhere (doesn’t it always go like that?). 🤷♂️
There’re only two ingredients I never associate with Japanese food: tomatoes and potatoes. This is new ground for me, eager to explore it. ✌️

06:56 Dissolving Curry Roux in the Pot
Very nice! Personally, I'd cook the meat first, then set aside, and use the rendered fat to saute the vegetables or use it to create the roux from scratch. And if not using cubes, sauteing the curry spices in fat is essential to bring out the flavor. Also, making a roux is one of those basic skills that every home cook should practice. So easy and essential for any kind of gravy or stew, and a great way to be a frugal gourmet. =)

Looks excellent! My only tip would be: Start the pork belly in the cold pan to heat up to render the fat, once its cooked remove it and use that fat for the onions, garlic, and ginger. Then you can add the belly back in to brown before moving forward with the recipe!

Thank you for sharing this recipe. I always made Japanese curry another way, but this one seems more tasty. I will be trying your recipe as I will be making some for my birthday next month so I'm looking forward to it.
@Omi_KasigiHi! There’s a way to make the curry without the curry blocks? It’s impossible to get them in my country.
Thanks!
Had me until microwave the onions for 4 min, that’s just lazy cooking. Still gave him a chance and then he said to add ketchup. SMH 🤦♂️
@jtp4667I thought it was just another video, but the recipe totally blew me away and it kept getting better until the end. Nice job sir.

@simonasahan5385Can you recommend the brand of Worcestershire sauce, in my area there is lea & perrins / bulldog / yamamori.
I think lea & perrins might be original but I would like to try bulldog also.
What brand do you use ??
even just chicken, carrot, potato and onion with the golden curry makes it amazing, I dont use all that other stuff but never knew it was an option... hmmm might try it
@Todd3246Nice!
@RonaldWNixonCrikey! I just bung the roux in with the veg.
@jeanhopman5659Oil pan,
Onions and salt,
Garlic and ginger, oil (to one side)
2tbps ketchup
1/2tpbs wor sauce
Meat, salt
Carrots and potatoes
120ml sake
Water and simmer, cover, and simmer 5m if potatoes tender
Curry roux
Butter, salt, grated garlic clove to finish
I don't have port belly so I'm using bacon since that's all I got and it kinda looks the same as pork belly... wish me luck
@salleymudd5488God, this looks amazing, it is truly a shame i can't find these ingredients here where i live in Brazil. Hopefully i get to travel to Japan someday so i can taste this, and Lamen
@KayderimGameplaysHoly crappp. I just cooked this, normally I only dissolve the roux in water for chicken cutlet curry with cheese but this was on a different level! So sweet and savory, def need some spice next time🤌🏼🤌🏼
