I do not understand the mouse scrolling thing... IF ( cannot stress this IF enough) it feels OK for the content of the window to go in the same direction when you move your fingers "up" or "forwards" when you use the trackpad, how can it be problematic when you use a mouse? It is the same movement! Just do the same thing you are already doing on the trackpad.

Very interesting points. I just switched from pc to Mac Os Tahoe 26 and boy it has been frustrating. I work all the time with word and to my disbelief it has been impossible to transfer my word files, 22,000 of them, to my mac book air. I always get error code 43, and the fixes found in support simply do not work. I guess I will have to give away the Mac book air to somebody that loves them and go back too buying a Windows 11 laptop. Nice and beautiful hardware but mac os is no match for windows and its simplicity and intuitiveness.

I bought a MacBook mainly because it was the cheapest option in the store, but I immediately regretted it due to hardware and software incompatibilities. Now I’m forced to go back to my old Windows PC for basic tasks like printing and scanning. Apple should take responsibility for addressing these basic issues that frustrate users on a daily basis. I will not be buying a MacBook again.

I tried upgrading an old 2013 trashcan Mac Pro, but it failed massively, so I got an M4 Pro Mac Mini. I didn't want to have to get something new to make it work, but that's a little of the Apple Mac experience. I got to pay a lot, on the basis of it being carbon neutral, and then, become irked that truly uninstalling anything is more difficult than most Linux distros. Apple needs to not have to be told what to do. It needs proprietary hardware that's unique enough, but actually good, and more features than either Linux or Windows, with good compatibility. That's the same game of 15 years ago. Sometimes, almost nothing changes.

7:45 what angers me about people complaining about this is. It's the same people who will NOT complain when google does it on android. heeck android is WORSE, you can't even PLAY multiple audio at once, let alone adjust volume

More User Perspectives
Pretty much every OS out there (including most desktop environments on the majority of Linux distros) needs heavy customization and even in the case of Windows and macOS third-party software (Raycast/Rectangle on macOS or GlazeWM/Flow Launcher on Windows) to be optimal for power use. Sway is pretty much the only OS-adjacent thing I've used that is more or less good for power use out of the box, although I still customize Sway pretty heavily (before someone um ackshuallys me, yes I know Sway is a tiling window manager, that's why I called it OS-adjacent).
@owenwexler7214This really bugs me as a life time windows user that just moved to an M series macbook air because the hardware/SOC is amazing but just little details in macos need to be ironed out that honestly could all be fixed in 3-6 months and it would be hands down the best general user laptop.
@atom608And the fact I just got a macbook air because of battery life and build quality/screen etc but when full screen even now the dock still does not consistently pop up when in full screen in windows such as safarri even if i move my mouse pointer to the middle bottom of the screen its more of a 50/50 occurrence

God forbid I'll see a magic mouse on someone's desk. I'd rather use that Dell mouse that they deliver to every single office in the world.

@com.android.providers.settingsThe most annoying thing with MacOS is that it is a very good OS, but it has a lot of small little annoyances that make daily use a chore. You have to use like 10+ third party apps just to get a functional computer and guess what? When you have that many apps installed the icons in the menu bar gets hidden behind the notch so you have to download yet another third party app to fix that issue. It's madness!
So Apple, please, just take the top 10 apps and copy their functioanlity and you would have the best OS in the business.
* Fix menu bar icon handling. See Ice or similar app.
* Fancyzones similar to windows with easy to set keybinds to toggle apps between zones. See Raycast.
* Super-key setting built in. See Raycast.
* Improve finder. See Raycast.
* More mouse options that are separate from trackpad. Like ability to have different scrolling direction. See BetterMouse or similar app.
* Make a setting to get alt-tab to switch between windows and also let minimized windows work with alt-tab (jesus fucking christ). See alt-tab app or Raycast.
* Make Night shift work on external monitors
* Enable changing the behaviour of stoplight icons for apps. Its pretty dumb to have 3 buttons on every window that are so useless that i never use them.
We could have had the perfect operating system, if only we could modify and fix windows or macos. (yes Linux "Works"... sort of)

@ibrahimtariq9370I've been saving up for the Macbook Pro and was planning to get it maybe by mid 2026 and this video just made me question to delay it even further cuz mahnnn these problems are peculiar and fair too, I would really want Apple to fix the traffic lights problem with the UI, the independent sound system for each window and also I donno much about the Magic Mouse but what's the use of having it when the solution given was just getting a newer third party mouse!?.

@robertwilliams2762It's wild how 2 years later, most of these haven't been addressed. I also had one of these moments when uninstalling a steam game. Been told for years that applications are drag and drop, but i uninstalled a steam game and it didn't disappear from the apps list. Turns out it was a SHORTCUT. WHEN HAVE SHORTCUTS EXISTED
