feels like a musical chairs to me i.e. dallas LA; Columbus 5s; St louis St LS. So when is next for Columbus? Also for an MLP venue, the courts were bad !! Wonder how it passed the inspection? Also both Courts were so close & it is a distraction. I thought Columbus was not great bt here was bad too.

Maybe Ben should play by himself. He doesn’t trust his partners. A few times as he was taking over the whole court, his partners should have covered his side and switched.

Great playing, the fact that Ben/Waters don't sweep AB and HP and even lost to them. I didn't think the odds of Ben and an unfamiliar partner (who doesn't mixed that much) to beat them. Same goes for HP and Gabe too, they were partners in MLP for a minute. Bens teams were the underdogs here, but tbh, it was more interesting this way!

A lot of dumb people in the comments... Ben was playing off, Gabe and Hayden played good. I don't think what happened this match would be a consistent outcome. The stadium sucked. Wasn't thought through by corporate or atleast was a bad decision. But even if the courts were good Gabe and Hayden played great and deserved that win.

Shocks win because they HATE TO LOSE. LOL

I feel like CP would be the better doubles player for Ben in a big game like this. Jade doesn't have the mixed doubles exp like CP and when ther 3rd game is make or break , you really need your best team out there especially when H and AB are actual PPApartners.

Courts have been absolutely terrible this tournament. If I’m a player, I’d be ticked. Can’t happen at this level.

Yes, the St. Louis Shock basically obliterated the LA Mad Drops. Aside from home court advantage, the LA Mad Drops did not have to win this since they won the first of five, this being the third.

Just so nobody forgets, Hayden Patriquin has long been doubles partner with Gabe Tardio before Gabe was with Ben Johns. Not to mention, Hayden was with his main mixed doubles partner Anna Bright. So you can imagine how comfortable and well-adapted the pairs are to each other. That doesn’t go the same for Ben since he doesn’t really play with his partners in the LA Mad Drops set-up. I’m not taking a way the fact that Hayden and his team are amazing players, but we shouldn’t be too critical of Ben since in my opinion, he has it harder. Regardless, they are all at the top of pickleball. They have nothing else to prove.

All these players should have such respect for Ben. Once you become the top, it is harder to stay on the top and the pressure is so immense. Whereas, newer players always coming up to try to beat Ben. So if they get one or two etc. games that they win against Ben, instead of saying good for those players you get headings that say Ben was obliterated. Ben has such finesse, smart with his game, patience, and so much more. Yes he will be beat from time to time, but it takes an awful lot of people trying to do so. Way to go Ben! You and your team rock! Congratulations to St. Louis, but still remember your place
