Lisbon: 10 Things NOT To Do!
Video Overview & Insights
Hello I'm some guy named Dave in Portugal.
Tuk tuk can be a very good alternative for people with low mobility or elderly people. Lisbon is very much hilly, and some streets are harder than hiking in montains. Tuktuks can be a very good way to see the maily points if you can't go far by walking. My tip is: look for a small tuktuk of Portuguese/brasilian drivers. They are mostly honest and wellcoming. You can have a lot of fun with them
In this video I have consulted with a Lisbon native to bring you the Top 10 things NOT to do when visiting Lisbon.

Things not to do, make a video about Lisbon with spanish music instead of Fado

To tell people not to buy anything on the street is kind of cruel.. im not talking about drugs, but the artists who sell jewellery, clothes or sunglasses. My God they hv not much money and trying to earns something.. Why u make life more difficult for them.. Is it not a good thing to support small business or streetartists. They make life more beautiful.. Those musicians standing on street n play makes the city alive...

Nice informative vid. My only note being that pronunciation of âarseâ is utterly at odds with your accent đ. It was jarring
@ShwahfaceBS
@theodor504Thanks for nothing.
@the_hooksBairro alto is the best place! You looks like a boring guy
@tetrica_oficialThe drugs are good
@tetrica_oficialDave, you are a man, you say "Obrigado" always to both man and women. A woman will always say "Obrigada" (Obrigado = Obligated ==> I am "obliged" to be grateful.) So I'm "obrigado" if i'm a man, and "obrigada" if i'm a woman. Thank you Dave for your love for Portugal!
@mondegoworksThanks Dave, liked & subscribed
@BisSchop-nu8lrBy the way, where can I buy hash? I understand that itâs not worth it from street people, but maybe someone has an idea? Maybe a taxi driver could point me in the right direction?
@bencevarga3534Thank you for tips
@GermanyTigoSome of these points are pretty ableist. If you have mobility issues thereâs nothing wrong with a tuktuk or Santa Justa elevator. Lisbon is far from the most accessible city.
@sweatervestguyMy tip: don't hire the escort Judie. You will fall in love and it will ruin your life
@CoolStoryBro4555 euros for the elevator ride is a scam? Dude its 5 euros
@CoolStoryBro455F the trams. Just get an uber or bolt.
@CoolStoryBro455Bought some weed, no problem. Just see and smell it, talk about the price. That's it. Just don't be an idiot
@CoolStoryBro455I ended up booking a private tuk-tuk tour for $300 since I only have a few days in Lisbon. Figured itâs the easiest way to hit most of the landmarks without wasting time on transportation or walking. But thanks for the video!
@hvp6555NEVER PUT KETCHUP ON A HOT DOG
@generalkawasaki9485Tuktuks are actually pretty fun, I recommand 100%
@philboilydoucetToday I was going to go for the free walk. The tour guide start saying I paid 5 euros for each and it wold be nice if you top me 10, 20, 50 euros tips after the tour . I didnât join him for the free walk because I was very upset of him trying to explore people .
Tips should be optional depending on how much you learned and enjoyed the tour.
I was going to give him 2 euros and there were 13 people there and if I was nice he could make 25 euros which is not bad wages for a 1,5 hours .
Pork and clams yummy
@aaronc1980Got it, so go to barrio alto
@Nepsis333You dont want to be in or be anywhere near a railway cable car
@carlickerSeriously? You don't speak Spanish? But English, yes, of course... when we have so much more in common between the Portuguese and Spanish languages, with a little attention we can understand each other. I know of English people who have lived in Portugal for years and can't even say "bon dia" (good morning).
@juliodemoravazquez9928Thank you. I'm going in 3-4 weeks. My friend's daughter said to do half the things you said not to. That's gen z for you. đ
@PluscelamemechoseSo where do we buy the drugs
@ed4891Portugal has become am expact for the rich, while the real Portugese, Nao podimos fazer nada. portugal is being exploited by the Expacts, while the real portuguese, weep in silience.
@joewhite-gd5rjNever buy fake hash, Cocain, fake watches, rubber bands, Yes! Portugal, has its scammers, like any other country, Jut say nao! and they shall flee from you, but you must be strong, NO means Nao! Cheers! Bottoms up, not too much or else, you will be had.
@joewhite-gd5rjI think this video is good but avoid telling people how to spend their days while on holiday and let them enjoy!!
Uber/bolts for one, are somewhst inexpenaive (risien now the last 2 years) but they are the ones causing majority of traffic and holding up cars. Long distances, for sure, it makes sense but unless you are coming on holiday with no ⏠at all, which why are you on holiday to begin with?.. then do what fits you in that moment.

@SirTerenceTheThirdI would add the Acquarium in Parque Das Nacoes, it's a big rip off for what you see. 25 Euros and it's just an average seaquarium, definitely not the best. Large crowds, noise, waiting periods, it's not worth it. I think it's a big tourist trap !
@Carolinapetroskagreat vid thank you
@luketargett2233Unless you really love elevators
@heartman2013Bro Happened to me today ! Experience Report: Threatened, Robbed and Extorted in Lisbon â A Warning to Tourists
I had just arrived in downtown Lisbon â no more than five minutes in the city â when I became the victim of a terrifying crime.
Right in front of an ATM on the street near the Indian restaurant âCinnamonâ, I was surrounded and threatened by a group of men.
They successfully robbed me of 60 euros â they took the money directly from me.
But it didnât stop there: They demanded that I withdraw 500 euros from the ATM, or else they would beat me up and rob me completely.
I was genuinely afraid for my safety. I managed to escape without handing over more money â but I was clearly being extorted under threat of violence.
This experience completely ruined the joy I had for my trip.
I came to Lisbon excited, and within minutes I became the victim of robbery and attempted extortion by a violent group.
I want to warn other tourists urgently.
The police in Lisbon are known for not taking such cases seriously â but I hope that by making this public, pressure will build and something will finally be done
I managed to get the number of one of the "Dealers" .
If Someone Manages to get a WhatsApp call facetime and screenshot his face , i would be glad then to answer me , so i can go to the German embassy , who would Pressure the portuguese police , so they have to act
+351 925 244 029
If you managed than respond here to me , i will send you my number, so i can Receive the Screenshot. I would also post his face on tik tok and other social Medias
Where are you supposed to get drugs in Portugal
@Jerem1eLOL, era o que faltava, um InglĂȘs ficar ofendido se um PortuguĂȘs nĂŁo falar a lĂngua dele em Portugal
@mariosjpauloNice Vid.
You need more practice saying ARSE.
If you shouldn't buy drugs from people on the streets, who should I buy drugs from?
@theMailman2Thanks for the video. It is really fun about the Santa Justa Elevator. I got into this trap myself: when you stay 20 minutes in a line, pay 6 euros, and they get you just into another street, to the place where you can go absolutely for free. It made me laugh when I understood it, and the idea of how I paid for nothing still makes me smile. So, I don't regret taking it đ
@DimitriiLabSo, where can i buy drugs?
@ofiam55You have get tuk tuk absolute!!!!! i tuk tuk sono la cosa piĂč utile di Lisbona per attraversare la cittĂ senza stancarti e poi i tuk tuk driver sono dei veri amici. ciao Djogo!!!
@monicapettorini4278Jesus Dave, at 6:55 you look like my 5 year old eating those sardines. Another tip would be in Europe learn to use a knife and fork otherwise you'll look like you're simple!
@aldozilli1293OK, meu! Ăs Dave ou David? Post correcto a 50% - mas, muitos estereĂłtipos e desinformação. No que toca a ser cauteloso, penso que qualquer turista sabe disso. A maior parte das dicas sĂŁo uma treta. As pessoas que explorem. Comprar "coisas" na rua? O quĂȘ? Artesanato? Porque nĂŁo? Comprar drogas? Ya! Ă melhor conhecer alguĂ©m primeiro... InformaçÔes sobre curiosidades culturais: Zero!
Google translation:
OK, man! Are you Dave or David? Post 50% correct - but lots of stereotypes and misinformation. When it comes to being cautious, I think any tourist knows this. Most of the tips are bullshit. People who explore. Buy "things" on the street? What? Craftsmanship? Why not? Buy drugs? Yes! It's better to get to know someone first... Information on cultural curiosities: Zero!
You will look like an Idiot speaking Spanish but You will look like a Euro sign if you speak English.
@EdwardBouldineu sou Portuguese, born in the northern minho, Viana Do Castello. Now, living in Canada, I go back every summer to visit family and friends. Portugal, has great beaches, fantastic sunrises and sunsets, great port wine, great food, one of the Cheapeast country in Europe, and be respectful to the elderly. say Bon Dia and Obrigado. enjoy our festivals all over portugal during the summer months, check out our FADOS. Food is cheap, gas and petrol is more pricey, and never say GAS, say PETROL, the north is green the south is desert and tropical. we dine between 8:30 amd 10 PM. Cheers! from Viana Do Castello.
@joewhite-gd5rjBairro Alto is too overcrowded nowadays, there are better alternatives like "Docas", in AlcĂąntara, near the river. However, If you have a taste for alternative music, like grunge, industrial and metal, you can find in Alvalade the "RCA Club" "and Noir", and in Arroios "O Covil" all good places to enjoy solo and with friends.
@Lena_de_villeGreat advice
