I've chilled for a few minutes and will no longer call it "flagrantly incorrect." There is a case to be made for the foul being committed while trying to play the ball in the penalty area. But I still believe it is a wrong case. The goalie clearly lowers his arms after the ball flies over his head. He has given up on trying to stop the ball. THEN he reaches out and commits the foul. He is no longer trying to play the ball, which he never touched. He is merely hindering the player. Therefore red card.

I like Miami and it's entertaining to see ten goals, but the match was decided by the referee who in the ninth minute refused to give the Miami goalie the required red card for his foul in the box. He was obviously the last defender and prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity. There is no excuse for the referee's flagrantly incorrect decision. Miami should have played with ten men for virtually the entire match. Would they then have scored six goals?
