She's 7 years old, came to Singapore only a year ago, and is gamely picking up English with the help of P1 classmates at Farrer Park Primary. Even before preparing for the PSLE, international students like Chaorui in neighbourhood schools must learn to adapt to local food and other integration challenges.
Idris Ahamed Sorry I addd
But they're doing so with help from big-hearted classmates and the school. This is the story of 3 such students.
What Idris Leader School
International students from all over the world - India, Brazil, Russia, China, Myanmar, the Philippines etc - make up 5% of all pupils in primary and secondary schools and junior colleges. Unlike Singaporeans who pay no primary school fees, international students in primary school paid S$440 to S$700 a month in 2019.

lovely to see kids integrating better than adults. So important to look for similarities and be open minded inclusive to happily accept differences treat everyone with respect, treat equally regardless of color, race, language, religion, culture or socioeconomic status..just like we accept our mother nature..beauty of diversity

@weitsoiI'm 11 and I've always wanted to go to International School but we don't have sufficient money. I'm a Malaysian by the way. In University, I'm planning to be a Chemistry, Mathematics & Astronomy Major. My English Teacher, uncles and aunts say that I'm too smart for my age. They said 'You should skip grades' and I just smiled. One of them even said to my Dad 'Hey, quit smoking and invest in your son, take him to International School, what are you waitin' for, you won't regret it'
@ngyuzhemoe7107Anytime I hear an Indian say Bro I cringe...

There is always another side.
Alina's gonna have such a good future
@axia5563I hope people who are xenophobic and salty about expats or foreigners in Singapore, get to see this. No one, no expats in Singapore have it easy. This country thrives on talent and efficiency, even if someone "magically got a job" in Singapore, if they cannot perform, the company will never keep them. It is as simple as that.
More expats are here because the job requires their skills and the whole company benefit from various cultural background. There is a reason why Diversity and Inclusion is such a big deal in corporate culture these days.
So instead of being salty about it, embrace the differences and thrive to do better.
I like Alina's English, Idris speaks with a strong accent, as well as the teachers. Good vocab ,though
@lefrem3344Idris got the vibes of the next CEO of Google or Apple
