Can someone help a novice? After switching the EQTF to ST2084 I did not see HDR pop notification on the top right. Also when I went to switch, it was already on FILMMAKER mode. Is this unusual or an issue of any kind? Thanks.

My control doesn’t have numbers to enter that special code

@hdtvtest have a problem, I have an Xbox series X, I use Ruipro fiber 2.1 ultra high res hdmi cable, all connected to the lg oled77g5…. Somehow i get black screen often when changing between games and home, also i play hdr because it seems impossible to go 120hz 4k dolby vison, no starts! So only on 60hz it works or how i play now, on hdr, vision is disabled on xbox. How can I get everything working again, it did on my lg c1….

i just upgraded from a 65" CX to a 77" G5 and SDR seems quite worse. Lots of pixelation and artifacts. I have tried his settings and Rtings but not any better. Is it the larger TV, bad panel or just the G5?

Hi Vincent, just bought the LG G6 55" and looking for settings to make the SDR picture better. This video helped. Iam still struggling with the standard channels such as Calendar News and 5 Star. any suggestions would be great.

So basically if you want warm jittery piss that’s accurate and looks not good use this if you want natural but still has good colour leave it on standard and adjust very small things

Some Dolby Vision content, such as House of Dragons on HBO Max, is entirely too dark to watch with these settings. I have to set it on the Cinema Home and adjust everything in order for dark scenes to be watchable.

Is there any way to force streaming content from LG apps to switch from one output type to another? Regular HDR looks better (brighter) than DV in these cases.

Yes if u want a dim picture listen to Vincent and av forum and all the rest who advise Filmmaker mode. Looks like Vincent is too lazy to look for a decent picture

Pls no one use this guys settings bro said no sharpness put 0 if ur watching content and ur off angle it would look wierd you put sharpness on 25 to get a viewing of any angle idky people turn that off🤦🏾‍♂️ that alone showed me enough of his bs settings you won’t get the best out of these settings 💀

An issue I'm running into on my LG C1 OLED is when playing Dolby Vision content I don't have a "Film Maker" picture mode as an option. It's automatically set to "Cinema". Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I changed the ETOF to "ST2084" but it's not forcing my TV into HDR mode. I don't get the HDR in the top right like in the video and it looks like all my picture settings are still setup from SDR. Any ideas?

On LG G5 the most faithful modes seem to be either Filmmaker mode (best one for HDR, sometimes slightly less for SDR) and Dark Room mode with little color temperature fixing (best one for SDR in darkness or faint light). Cinema and Gaming mode can boast excellent out of the box delta E (thus fidelity) too, but may perhaps vary according to light conditions and content.

On the newer LG OLED TVs there is another custom picture mode. Which is called Personalized picture (bright and colorful). That said, should you still choose filmmaker mode?

Why do you disable force HDR mode later on in your tutorial? The mode that is set with the secret menu and turning EOTF to ST2084. If it's going to output ST2084 in HDR mode, then I'm assuming this is only beneficial for SDR content?

Thanks for the settings tips. But as a photographer and actualy just as an normal media viewer i can not see or understand how a 40-50 setting to Warm side would be the correct one or even concider ”filmmaker” setting. Every media from any source or platform that you would feed the TV with would be delivered with a quite large portion of yellow tone. Its quite easy to see in an news feed wich i asume is recorded in a somewhat neutral lighted studio. All Youtube content is yellowish and so on. Would it not be more correct to have the tv or whatever viewing devices used to be set as neutral in temperature as possible. Allowing the media played to be shown as intended?

Buy a new tv and turn off everything??
Just ignore dolby vision settings like precision detail etc.
Ignore Cinema Home?
With your settings there is NO point buying a expensive TV's.
