Interesting to see LG clobber one of their own model names. There was already an LG G6 OLED TV 10 years ago.

Samsung doesnât support dolby vision, it ends there for me. Besides, the black level raise in any bright condition destroys the superb contrast thatâs a big reason why we like OLEDs so much. Plus, the bezels are horrible. I don't get samsung. This could have been the winner tv of the year, but it busted because of bad decisions. If cheap TVs support dolby vision, itâs not that expensive to license. The bezels are totally a choice. And the matte tech of the panel, that destroys black levels while watching tv during the day, even tho0ugh heavily criticized, was kept.. It's like theyâre actually choosing to be bad.

Why does cnet hire people who know nothing about tvs to talk about tvs. The Samsung is a QD OLED panel which uses blue light and quantum dots to produce colors so it has a better color volume than the LG. The LG uses white light along with a 4 stack tandem to improve color it has less color volume than the Samsung TV but white does look better on it. FYI Samsung stepdown model the S90H uses a LG WOLED panel and this model the Samsung S95h uses the samsung QD OLED panel.
@OGStylusGreat review but I will stick with my Samsung 65inch S90F QD OLED.
@SteveSmith-cm1hxI appreciate the short, succinct review and comparison. Many YouTube channels seem to think longer is better. Thank you.
@robertvandenberg3998Does CNET not have proper editorial. How are you incorrectly stating that the LG G6 is a two-stack tandem when it is a 4 stack tandem, and those vents on the S95H are not for cooling, they are speakers. Also that CIE chart looks like the TV is clearly in DCI P3 and you're measuring 709? Of course its going to be inaccurate when you put the TV in the wrong mode, samsungs come out of the box in auto and RTINGs have it at a pre calibration score of 0.83 which is insane and has been corroborated by other reviewers. This just appears to make the TV look as bad as possible. The real answer is SDR = G6 HDR = S95/S99H Also want to add that the way you are doing that light test is completely favoured to the LG. You are covering the shine of your flashlight with your phone being straight on vs on the samsung you're doing it at an angle. The G6 anti reflect is really damn good this year, but going out of your way to make it look better by covering the reflection of the light with the phone is kinda odd, and then having the phone at an angle for the samsung is also odd.
If anyone wants to see a fair comparison, I suggest looking at StopTheFOMO's livestream where he shows off the Bravia 9 ii G6 and S95/9H and TCL's X11L. First few minutes of it show off reflection handling and the G6 is so impressive, still reflections but man compared to the X11L's gloss its night and day
G series TV are gallery TVs and support art work. Itâs cool and enabled on mine
@rohitkalra90It may not be clear to some but the LG galleryâs are artwork TVs too and the bezel effect is incredible. Samsung are standing out from the crowd, theyâre catching up
@Sts_andymLg beats Samsung everyday and twice on Sunday, didnât even need to watch this
@EpicPianoCoversMusic is too loud. :(
@rgbii2$3,400 and then you find last yearâs G5 is a grand cheaper đ Iâm team LG for blacks, but Samsungâs art mode is lowkey tempting.
@SpiderjinThe only one that matters is that Samsung doesnt support Dolby Vision so its a no-go.
@budanskiLg also has the lg g6 phone.
