The final segment of this documentary repeats the hoary old bourgeois myth that Lenin "paved the way for Stalin." Nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, Lenin tried to have Stalin sacked as General Secretary of the Russian CP in his "Last Will & Testament," suppressed by Stalin and his fellow epigones, as Trotsky called them. Stalin was only able to come to power because of a complex concatenation of Russian & International circcumstances, the most important of which was the lack of a successful Socialist Revolution in one of the advanced capitalist countries, like Britain, Germany, France, or the USA. If the Revolution HAD spread abroad the monster Stalin and his fellow bureaucrats would never have been able to consolidate their personal power, wealth, and privileges. That was the tragedy both of Lenin's premature death at only 54, and of the Soviet people who were forced to endure the horrors, privations, and mass murder of the Stalinist regime from Lenin's death until the collapse of the Stalinist bloc from 1989-1991.

Lenin saw the peasants and the workers as the two eyes of the revolution. He introduced the 'New Economic Policy' (NEP) to help the peasants. But as soon as Stalin came to power, he forcibly seized the peasants' land and grain (Collective Farming). Millions of ordinary peasants who opposed this were deported to brutal concentration camps (Gulag) in Siberia or killed. This led to the severe Ukrainian famine (Holodomor). This was something a socialist ruler should never do to his own people.

Lenin placed great importance on collective leadership in the party. Lenin was willing to listen to and debate even the harshest criticisms of contemporary leaders like Trotsky and Bukharin. However, Stalin concentrated all power in himself and executed all of Lenin's loyal old revolutionaries, branding them as 'traitors' (the Great Purge).

FUN FACT: They ( the bolshewiks involved in the October revolution) were all either jewish or were financed/ backed by the jews and came up with the term "antisemetic" to stop everyone else talking about it..

Where in the early years of the new Bolshevik government did the government get revenues? Did they pay urban workers directly? How did they fund capital improvements?
Pay government workers? I imagine workers elected their own supervisors ? How was the Red Guard paid?

There was no democratic constitution if they started with separation of powers with social programs in its bill of rights the USSR may have succeeded. Unfortunately the revolution was taken over by thugs and authoritarians.

Funny thing about socialism , it is just an ideology imposed upon opressed people, but it really is the same as capitalism in the sense that an elite controls everything but that elite is contoled by a hidden and higher elite, banquers and financiers.
