Once I was seventeen. And I had my first love. Long distance love... for like 4 years we didn't see each other... Then, one summer, in 2017, we finally met. At the seaside. And spent one night together. Just one night. We just talked all night and slept in his arms... When I woke up next to him I felt like everything led me to this perfect moment. The light was brighter that day... But then... he had to leave. And I knew I wouldn't see him again for a long time... We didn't even talk about that. We did not settle a date. He just had to go. And there's me... walking him to the station. Talking to him about whatever. I remember holding onto his hand like I was a little girl and trying to memorise every line on his palm like it would lead me back home... And then he was gone. Puff. Just like that. In a second. The bus was already there and leaving and he was in a hurry... We didn't even kiss goodbye (properly). I cried a lot that day. The walk back to where I stayed took me an eternity (it was just a 10 min walk...) bc I stopped to cry at every corner. And the next day... I found this song. And it soothed everything in me. And it captured my experience like no words could ever do. I still listen to this song often. Too often, I might say. Thank you. I hope one day I will play this song to him and tell him this story... I hope one day I will wake up to that brighter light again <3.
