Am I the only one that thought that was Pauly Shore?

1. The Background: Key people involved, their relationships, and the motive.

Judy Church (age 67, of Salisbury, Massachusetts) was the live-in girlfriend of Leroy Fowler (age 55).

Doofiest interrogator I’ve seen in a while…he keeps talking over the suspect, missing so much information. Probably his first day.

— @juanita-Var7

The couple had been in a long-term but toxic and dysfunctional relationship for approximately 10 years.

Fowler was simultaneously involved with another woman (Barbara Randall), an arrangement known to all parties involved; neither woman was happy with the situation.

Interrogations like this always keep me interested from start to finish. The process is fascinating. Thanks to the channel.

— @insideinterviewroom

Prosecutors described jealousy over Fowler’s relationship with the other woman as the motive; evidence included Church creating and using a voodoo doll of the other woman (sticking pins in it and throwing it around), as testified by Fowler’s son.

2. The Crime: Specific details of the event, including date, location, and any calculated planning or tampering.

Good interrogation hyped!

— @tmp1111

Date: November 11, 2022 (Leroy Fowler’s 55th birthday).

Location: The couple’s shared home in Salisbury, Massachusetts.

I actually believed her until they started with the evidence

— @RealityTVObsessed756

Church deliberately added ethylene glycol (the main toxic ingredient in antifreeze and de-icing fluid, which has a sweet taste) to Fowler’s fruit punch-flavored Powerade drink.

After he consumed the tainted drink, Church recorded video of him on her cell phone while he was in distress and asked him, “Are you having fun?”

"Hope the person makes a full recovery, and it's no longer a death "
Any chance they could hire people with some kind of concept of the permanence of death? Is it a requirement that one be incapable of thinking to be hired as a cop?

— @CatFish107

She waited approximately 30 minutes before calling 911 (only after Fowler asked her to), telling the dispatcher that her boyfriend “must have ingested something.”

Fowler was transported to the hospital, where he suffered severe organ damage; he died two days later on November 13, 2022.

Ok...First of all...Why in the WORLD would that man continue to stay with someone he suspects of poisoning him, continuing to take her drinks!!! Where are the brains here??? Just hearing her, she sounds creepy, evil!.

— @adriannaesparza6338

3. The Investigation: Suspect behavior, key evidence found (digital or physical), and inconsistencies in stories.

Suspect behavior: Church called 911 claiming Fowler “must have ingested something” and later maintained complete innocence in a recorded police interview, stating “I did nothing wrong.” Prosecutors noted she was the only person with access to Fowler during the critical time window when the poison would have taken effect.

Grandma 👵 😅😅😅😅

— @barbmurraybabss

Key physical evidence: A largely empty Powerade bottle recovered from the home contained residue at the bottom that the Massachusetts Crime Lab confirmed included antifreeze (ethylene glycol); Church’s DNA was found on the bottle. Autopsy revealed ethylene glycol in Fowler’s system and calcium oxalate crystals in his kidneys, confirming the cause of death as antifreeze poisoning.

Digital evidence: Video recorded by Church on her cell phone showing Fowler in distress was shown to the jury.

Bloody stupid and lazy to not at least get rid of the weapon under the sink!

— @emm2127

Inconsistencies: The defense argued the death resulted from Fowler accidentally ingesting Percocet (a drug he was known to use) or was part of a family conspiracy against Church; they claimed the couple had a good relationship and were planning to move to Florida together. The jury rejected these claims after evidence of the poisoning and motive was presented.

4. Conviction and Sentencing: Trial dates, specific verdicts for each defendant, and their final sentences.

Hahaaa😂😂😂 that's so funny!! He said I guarantee you are not under arrest, you will be walking out this door.... This is what he said under his breath, and after you walk out this door is when we will put the cuffs on you! 😂😂😂 There's absolutely no reason why she would say she's scared if she was innocent!!!

— @JennX1971

Trial: Essex County Superior Court in Salem, Massachusetts (began March 18, 2026; verdict reached after about one day of deliberations).

Verdict (March 30, 2026): Judy Church was found guilty of first-degree murder with premeditation and extreme atrocity and cruelty. (Leroy Fowler was the victim; there were no co-defendants.)

Wat een onsympathieke vrouw.

— @yordia66

Sentencing (April 2, 2026): Church received the mandatory sentence under Massachusetts law of life in prison without the possibility of parole. The judge stated he would have imposed the same sentence even if he had discretion. Church has indicated plans to appeal.
