@maxr.6319I don't think post number one should bother Renegade. Even if he is squeze early, it will allow him to save ground and being a slow and come from behind horse.....should help....cause of the ground saved early.
@agustindejesus7398Always Dreaming won the Kentucky Derby.....but have not produce a horse.....worth looking at it. I am sure horse owners at the sales were robed with his babies years ago.
@agustindejesus7398So many people are bemoaning Renegade coming out of the 1 hole. As a matter of fact the gate is totally different from the history they are referring to. It used to be a 14 gate main gate with an auxiliary gate for the other 6 horses. Now it is a custom 20 horse gate specifically made for 1 race a year and it freed up almost 10 feet to allow the 1 horse to not start the race slammed into the inside rail. There have only been 5 races run with this new layout, far too few to know statistically if it is a disadvantage or not. I honestly do not think it is and Renegade is still getting all my action this Saturday.

@tim6385I think both the Oaks and Derby are more competitive this year than in several years, as while the favorites are being touted there are at least 6 in each race of these still improving young 3-year olds who could take a step forward and win. Or a jockey who makes just the right decisions to guide his very capable steed who had been discounted-by-the-pundits to victory! The 9 winning long-shots in the past 21 years in ‘05, ‘09, ‘11, ‘12, ‘19, ‘21, ‘22, ‘23, and ‘24 attests to that.
