JURASSIC PARK BREAKDOWN! Steven Spielberg Details You Missed! | Deep Dive

Video Overview & Insights

Jurassic Park breakdown, analysis, and deep-dive by Erik Voss! Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond: The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth™ is available now and is available at your local game store, online through Amazon, and elsewhere Magic is sold.

Rewatched it recently and yes it's such a "where is the digital revolution going to take us" film. Really ahead of its time in that sense, asking questions we wouldn't even know were questions long before everyone else.

It's "Spielberg Summer" on The Deep Dive, and let's revisit one of Steven Spielberg's most beloved and most commercially successful films, JURASSIC PARK (1993), for its nature vs technology themes, incredible visual effects, and how it changed Hollywood forever!

Find The Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth™ on Amazon using this link: https://amzn.to/46DBH1w

He will never become a champion. He was always going to be an average Joe fighter. UFC are horrible at promoting the wrong people. You would imagine the biggest MMA promoters would do better than this

The thing jurassic park did so well besides the looks and story itself is the way they show fear on screen imo. Jurassic world is alot of : BOOM ---> ACTION --> RUN , while jurassic park has alot of scenes where the danger is there, but the character isn't quite discovered or completely screwed. And theres intense fear of the danger impacting the character. As seen on the character too. More thriller like I guess. Jurassic world has alot of these ''beautiful' action scenes, but I'm not there for action. Im there for the thrill of dangerous dinosaurs. That's why JW is overall rated quite low for jurassic park fans I think. And also the shiny modern animals don't look as good

24:42 Just noticed this but they also spelled Tyrannosaurus wrong. It's missing an 'n'. Guess 'stegasaurus' wasn't the only mistake

imagine a cow that is huge like a Brachiosaurus. Wouldnt the bones break due to the immense weight? The muscles and all that? Well just paint it green then.....Not just this fact immediately shows up that those giant dinosaurs are just made up in history to prevent from digging deeper and reveal what really has been extincted. DInosaurs are cool but a waste of time. Just like Marvel.

Mind boggling how long it took to render those early dinosaurs.

Is he "the best director" though ?
He's the best at the unique type of processed cheese movies that he makes. But he's never made a real film like Scorsese with a soul, or a dialogue rich piece like Tarantino.
Maybe it would be fair to say he is 'the best director who makes accessible movies' ?
Yeah, he makes movies, not films. He's (arguably) the best movie director, but (definitely) not the best film director.

This scene is very powerful and very extraordinary. I love it!!

No breakdown for the sequel?

I started to watch this because I really wanted to look at the information. Of course I love the subject matter but something about the narrator just turns me off. I don't know if it's his voice or his constant need to put his face back in the center of the video every 15 seconds. I think the viewers want to see the material that you've created and we don't have to keep seeing pictures of the narrator because we can hear him

You work too hard. Thanks for everything.

What they look like and sound is hard to believe. So many mammals skeleton don’t look like how they would! And sound is crazy to guess

@AlwaysmilingPolitely

@15:54 except in the book it was a stegosaurus. Spielberg changed it to a triceratops.

At 21:50 one of the main VFX artists that helped create the Galamaimus Stampede, the Great TyRuben Ellingson, was running in the field to help create the effect and broke his leg jumping over the log they hide behind. He was a wonderful mentor I met on my very first movie shoot called “Unearthed”, we’ve kept in contact ever since. I’m now in the the Directors Guild of America as a 1st Assistant Director, and I credit a lot of it to him. Just an easter egg I’m not sure many people are aware of 😉

Adam Jones, the guitarist from Tool, worked on this as his last film. He worked on the special effects, making props. His coworkers told him he was stupid for leaving his job. I think they might have been wrong.

For the T-Rex paddock plot hole, Spielberg acknowledged that it was not a major concern during filming, prioritizing the scene's overall impact. So Spielberg himself knew it was a plot hole, but also knew it was the best way to move the story forward. He didn't care about continuity since it made for a better story.

Also, when you look at the Jurassic Park map, car path, etc, you'll notice where the car stopped is not on the border of any paddocks. It was basically right in the middle of the T-Rex paddock.
So in the end.... it's a plot hole.

And Sam Neill finally got to see Montana.

@travisgates8411

Watched it last night. It’s still just as good as it was in 93. One of the greatest movies of all time

I recently came across a theory that says that the boy Alan Grant scares is none other than Owen Grady....

18:24 Per Jurassic Parks Own Making of Book, co-writer David Koepp actually asked Spielberg directly back during filming “Aren’t we going to wonder where the cliff came from?” Spielberg then replied to Koepp “There’s a T-Rex right there!" Spielberg didn't think we would notice.

@TimWing23

To answer your how the fuck the shot the dent on the side of the jeep during the trex chase, they used a trex duh

@aleksdreeve8878

recently been reading the book and one big thing i noticed, people were surprised that Henry Wu became much more important in world, but in the book, Wu was a fairly recurring role and alot more important then he was in the first movie

that cliff drop is apparent continuation error, but irrelevant for the plot so its not too big issue. other than that cool review bro

@Visnjik1986

The oner where Tim is following Grant around is punctuated so perfectly by Grant turning around to see Lex right behind him, almost like a jump scare!

(27:53-55)Love how the Queen (Rexy) 1st major scene of T-Rex after bothe F- Explorers are stalled she snaps off the electrical wire and struts her self takes a step turns her head to the left takes another step turns to the right and Roars badass scene Goosebumps seen this in the theater as a 9 year old most amazing movie experience

@lonewolf8510

23:00 anyone ever notice how much the kitchen scene resembles the basement scene of Spielberg's War of the Worlds?

@PCP18NL
@

It's also the sense of mass and weight. The dinosaurs look heavy.

Like replacing T-Rex with a big kitty? 😅

➡️Also the deal between dennis nedry discussed at that table and Dotson was Dennis would get the other half of the 💵money paid to him IF he got ALL 15 species DNA samples off the island....well that barbasol can can ONLY HOLD 10 DNA samples! SO if Dennis did get off the island with the barbasol can he possibly could have been scammed out of the rest of the money owed to him.🤔 and I bet the $750,000💵 he had in that bag was in the jeep when he was attacked......I wonder....do ya think Dennis was "dino car jacked" and the dilophosaraus took the bag of money?🤣 just a funny thought.

@coletrickle--iXLR8

6:56--he left the door open on a 1983-1986 ford LTD station wagon.

@coletrickle--iXLR8

Joffrey is the actual name of the actor being dragged by the dinosaur... he is a famous stuntman...

@jaschoudhury18
@

Well the T Rex paddock ledge still doesn’t make sense. If you notice as their dangling the fence to the left was intact so they were right where the T Rex walked through. Plus you don’t see the level off to where the T Rex walked through. It’s still a major f**k up

Jurassic Park, to my heart, is still the greatest movie ever made. No other movie has made such an impression on me as this. When I saw the trailor in 93, I went straight to the opening at the cinema to see it, and it just blew my mind. So much I went back and saw it 2 more times. What would this lifetime be without Speilberg?

@airshredder7314
@

No, Dennis Muren did not create CGI for this, Spaz Williams did.

I’m so happy the plot hole was filled because this movie is perfect and I hated that it had a flaw

@Snorlaxman2008-o4i

Okay calm down, Spielberg is not the best filmmaker alive. Yeah the original Jurassic park is good but he’s way too schmaltzy.
