Julianne Moore talks Tom Ford and David Bowie | Fashion Neurosis with Bella Freud | Video

Video Overview & Insights

Julianne Moore is an American actor. She is one of the most highly revered performers of her generation, and her work has been recognized by multiple awards, including an Oscar. Her extraordinary gift for peeling back the artifice, portraying the unraveling of a beautiful, misunderstood woman is unparalleled - making her beloved by both independent directors and big studios in the film industry. Julianne is also the author of the children’s book, ‘Freckleface Strawberry’ about her experiences of establishing her identity as a young girl, eventually learning to love her pale complexion and red hair - for which she is so recognized and appreciated today.

This Bella is so fake...oh, I just came from Paris and I decided to wear black to disappear. Oh, please.

In this episode of Fashion Neurosis, Julianne Moore and Bella Freud discuss her being the chosen one for Tom Ford's film directorial debut; the delicate art of falling apart; and opening her dressing room door to come face to face with David Bowie.

These interviews are absolutely wonderful ♥

Love the conversation talking about Amber and leads into most real dialogue about 27 minutes in . Love this conversation

Maybe the point of this I interview is not to talk about anything important.. ? Seems like a good opportunity to bring attention to things that actually matter.. ?

Julianne Moore laying there in the profile shot is evocative of Ophelia.....but on a couch, indoors and speaking with Bella instead of flowing along a river 🤭 sooo beautiful

What I love about this podcast is how eloquently the artists articulate their ideas. The conversations feel rich and layered in a way that’s increasingly rare. A refreshing contrast to the black-and-white thinking that dominates so much public discourse today.

I have a friend who is a redhead, and she has found getting it dyed to her original hue is very hard and that the stylist said red is the hardest colour to get right in hair dye. So she must have a great hair dresser as her red doesn't seem to change:). She is such a natural beauty.

Packing... yes.. oh my.. for those of us who live in the 'feeling' of the moment. It's a nightmare. How can I know what I will feel and need in an environment I've never visited... or a 'day' I haven't lived yet?

I love this show so much. Many of your guests are middle-aged; they were older than I as I was growing up in the 80s, and now they mostly look younger! In relation to your discussion here about accepting the limits of our physicality, it would be really fascinating to hear people talk about their choices to (or not to) have "work" done. Seems kind of like the elephant in the room to me, especially here...

Awesome interview ❤ Some guys once said I reminded them of Julianne. Specifically, the characters of Amber and Maude. One guy worked as a therapist and the other was a psychiatrist. Greatest compliments of my life so far.

I'm in the minority, but I can't bear these interviews as they seem to wobble on the precipice of pretension and privilege, and seem utterly out of step with the zeitgeist, rather like when Stella McCartney showed of her HQ giant rocks she'd imported from Scotland in order to advertise her green credentials. Guests whispering sweet nothings at each other doesn't sit well with me, but I note that everyone else seems to love it.
