There is no doubt barcelona as a club need to fix up their defence. But you have to watch the games to understand that barca in the 25/26 lacked goalscoring prowess. From the 24/25 season where every other game barcelona scored 4-6 goals, in the 25/26 the goals were either scrappy or they just did not score as much. To win the UCL barcelona need a striker who is puts in defensive effort and has accurate shooting. And barcelona does not have bad centre backs, gerrard martin, pau cubarsi, eric garcia have been phenomenal even with the high line. But with mistakes from the right back and left back has caused more issues. Kounde being very inconsistent was an issue. If barcelona sign a centre back they will struggle as much as the others did. Hansi flicks system shows that they will for sure concede goals but they just have to outscore their opponents, and thats what they weren’t able to do this season.
