John Denver - Thank God I'm A Country Boy (From "Around The World Live" DVD)
I prefer ACDC ๐ฎ
John Denver is one of the most successful and best loved recording artists of the 20th century. His easy going manner, fine voice, superb songwriting and dedication to environmental issues all combined to build a huge global fanbase that has continued to grow since his untimely death in a plane crash in 1997. This superb 5 disc set is the definitive John Denver DVD release. There are three complete live performances with full band from Australia in 1977, Japan in 1981 and England in 1986. These are complemented by a solo acoustic performance from Japan in 1984 and his performances at Farm Aid from 1985, 1987 & 1990. The final disc has two hour long documentaries made by John Denver, his 1990 Earth Day programme about environmental issues and his 1972 show about the Bighorn sheep of his beloved Rocky Mountains.

@Hime5centThanks Dan Rather for the feature and the link to this
@4brensThis was a reason to smile! Iโd never heard this fiddle version.
@kayestambaugh5244Wait, what??? How did I get to be raised on John Denver, saw him in concert in the 70's with my family, mourned his death with everybody else, and I'm just now seeing him play a violin???
Thanks, Dan Rather, for today's reason to smile.
Another Dan Rather referral!! I was blessed to see John live three times and he never disappointed. His live shows were so much better than the albums... his voice rich, powerful and so melodic. Saw the first concert series at the Cow Palace... then a couple of years later at the Oakland Coliseum, and then up in Reno. His words, especially the lyrics from Looking For Space, got me through some dark times when I was younger and I still love most of his songs. Rippling Water live was my all time favorite performance, along with Calypso. But, seriously, Eagle and the Hawk was amazing... it was all amazing. The world needs him now more than ever and I hope that his spirit inspires us to protect the wild things. Feel so lucky to have witnessed his work personally.
@icnjillAny John Denver song with his angelic voice makes me smile. Thank you Dan

@cmonavis99I never was a country music fan, but I always loved John Denver, particularly this song. From what I've heard of today's country music, it sounds too much like pop music, and is over sexualized.
