There is nothIng better than portuguese cuisine. You can say Italy, Spain, France, Greece, but the big difference is the variety, they have receipts for everything. Oh, and the pastery? Out of this world. Secular heritage.

Very helpful and agree, though as you say hi speed train can be very expensive. Main thing I don't find cheap are pharmacies. Like France more expensive than UK in my experience for simple things even like insect repellant. Not getting stung for water or coffee is a real plus.

Love Porto. Stayed at the Euro star hotel five minutes from fabulous seaside restaurants. Quiet rooftop at three bridges.

Shame. That wee shop with the cheery liquor in a chocolate cup is now a complete tourist trap and nothing like in this video. No more promo chocolate cups of liquor for€1 just stupidity priced tins of sardines, €30, and that's one of the cheapest ones lol. The boss must have passed on and it's been taken over completely different now except for the front.
