I love Jax, but St Augustine is not part of the area. It's a great place, but about an hour away.

I’ve lived here most of my life. Moved here in 1982. Thought I’d spend 2 years here at most. Still here.

Very nicely made video. Jacksonville visually looks nice and exciting. I spent 3 months working in Jacksonville. Only 150 miles from my long time hometown in Orlando. & the Jacksonville downtown nightlife & entertainment scene is one 1/1000 of what there is to do in Orlando. By 5:30pm on Friday afternoon downtown Jacksonville is almost like a Ghost Town. & if you take away the 8 Jacksonville Jaguars home games. then the Landings is pretty much empty as well.
I always say if you have a year left to live in your life, you should move to Jacksonville, because it’s so boring it’ll seem like 5 years. 😢

My family and I are originally from Chicago, but we love Jacksonville, the weather, geography( access to forests and beaches), space( cause of large land area, you could still find homes with a bit of land; unlike New York City), cultural diversity, Affordability, etc, just to name some reasons. We love Jacksonville for sure. 💯👍🏾👍🏾

Jacksonville reminds me of Newark NJ

I noticed a lot of comments about Jacksonville's under whelming skyline. The reason there are not more skyscrapers downtown is because the city is so large (The largest in the continental United States) office space is decentralized from the downtown area to primarily in the southsiide of town. I finally figured this out after living here most of my 63 years.

I love when you cover Jax . It gets a lot of crap but the gorgeous beaches & quiet streets are a dream for that laid back lifestyle I’ve always loved .We’re no Chicago or NY , but it’s so chill here

One of those cities that is only as large as it is because it merged with its surrounding county (Duval) - otherwise there doesn't really seem much to it. Compare it's downtown to its population peer Austin

The first name of the township was Cowford. Then the city incorporated and renamed Jacksonville.

Truth be told, lots and lots of potential in this city, if only they built the downtown core on the EAST side of river, it would be CLOSER to the interstate/other freeways, no need for EXPENSIVE BRIDGES, and only 20 mins to beaches.....too much "self interests" in the design, reminds me of many southern cities which loves to spend $$$/emphasize importance of their "downtowns" despite NO ONE really "give a sh*t" due to poor road infrastructure, lack of interesting venues/work, and artificial price gouging via paid parking, silly ordinances, etc....

I lived in Jacksonville from 1997 to 2005. It's alright..but not really the Florida you think of when you think of the state...it's pretty much redneck in many ways and spread out. The fishing is good and St Augustine is down the road from Baymeadows where I lived. Also the Jags tickets are pretty inexpensive through scalpers so you can check out some good players on the visiting team for that week! 7/10.

Jax might be the actual worst city in the southeast. St. Augustine is NOT Jacksonville in any way. Completely different city, different county with its own culture.
