Jacksonville, Florida's Top Attractions + Local Food | 48 hours in Florida's LARGEST City

Video Overview & Insights

48 hours in Florida's largest city! Jacksonville is the the state's biggest city in terms of population as well as land mass. We found Jacksonville to feel much different - when compared to other big cities like Miami, Tampa and Orlando - because Jacksonville is so spread out with its historic neighborhoods and parks. In this episode we visit some of Jacksonville's most well known historic districts, parks as well as restaurants. Come along to find out if we thought this big city that doesn't FEEL like a big city is worth a visit. #explorcation #florida #jacksonville

What did you guess was Florida's largest city?!?!

And do you think you'd enjoy exploring a city that is so spread out? We know there are a lot of differing opinions on this and would love to hear yours!

I live in Ponte Vedra Beach and it has no attractions!! It sucks!! 💩 Downtown is garbage with nothing to do but mingle with the homeless and criminals and the skyline looks like some small kinda wannabe city and it never changes!!

As a transplant from NYC, Brooklyn, to be specific, I appreciate the parks and nature preserves here in Jacksonville.
BTW, your selection of background music went well with the vibe of each setting. Great job!

The reason why we are afraid to venture by the downtown area is crime. Most of downtown area are almost empty.

I've been in Jacksonville since 89. My girlfriend's sister got married at Treaty Oak. The arboretum used to have a hidden turtle sculpture on the trails, but it got ruined by people carving their names into it. Further up monument road from the arboretum (towards the St. John's River) takes you to the Timuquan Preserve, Spanish Pond trail across the street, and Ribault Column a little further down the road. Lots of nature trails and water views. Also need to hit up Community Loaves in Murray Hill, Hard Pressed Burgers, The Fried Egg, Mama's Pizza, Castaway Island, Riverside Arts Market, and the Cummer!

— @TheBrokenCage

17:32 - Fountain Light Show

19:36 - Breakfast in Arlington

You do a great job ! I am a fan!

Jacksonville isn't so much "spread out", it's just that they invaded and consumed the entire county. Hence, DUUUUVAAALLLL. My personal #1 recommendation for Jax: Don't go. It's awful. 😂

This tour video made us spend a day here and we agree it was nice. The riverwalk and night light shows were great. Thanks for making content like this.

Great video! You guys would love Delray Beach in south Florida!

It's spread out, flat, kind of boring. It's chilly in the winter. It covers a large area, but has a low population density. It's questionable whether they will be able to sustain their NFL team. The Metropolitan population is small. Downtown is really underwhelming. In short, Jacksonville is a big snooze.

I’ve driven through Jax dozens of times but have rarely stopped in. Usually I’m white knuckle driving over that bridge downtown. Looks like I’m really missing out. I’ll have to stop in next time.

Thank you both for doing Jax justice. I moved here when I was 20yo. I'm now 40 and have never regretted it. I'm from Virginia. It was a lot to get used to and there's definitely some places to stay away from but overall it is a wonderful city that I think is very slept on. So much to offer after 20 years I haven't even scratched the surface of what this city and surrounding areas has to offer. Also can't beat being a 40 min drive to St. Augustine and if not in a rush going down A1A to get to st aug from Jax is really nice. Lots of rich folk lol and the views are incredible

I haven't seen you guys in so long I thought you gave up on YouTube but now I'm guessing that your snowbirds cuz I haven't seen you since last season ??

I've been to Jacksonville twice for work, so I didn't have time to explore. Thanks for the video. I'll be sure to explore next time. Like all the nature. How do you youngsters stay so slim eating at those restaurants?

Jacksonville is the worst city in FL.

Still better than any city in any other state but definitely the worst in FL.

Thank you so much for showing off my underrated and misunderstood city! I've been hoping you would make your way up here one day. I live near the Arboretum. If you like those trails, you must come back and see our biggest natural gems. Most of northeastern Jacksonville is a network of protected areas known collectively as the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve and managed by the National Park Service. In addition to extensive nature trails, the area includes a replica fort where the French brought Protestant Christianity to America in 1564 and established a short-lived riverfront settlement (until the Spaniards from nearby St. Augustine wiped them out). While I know you guys are used to the unbeatable St. Pete/Sarasota beach scene on the gulf, you'll also find that Jax has some of the nicest Atlantic Coast beaches in the state including three funky beach towns, two city-run oceanfront nature parks, and two oceanfront state parks to explore. Big Talbot Island State Park is covered by giant driftwood trees and unusual black rocks set against a backdrop of cliffs. I think you'd love it! Hopefully you come back again some time (when it's warmer)! Keep up the great work!
