'It's a massive blow': Ukraine launches major drone attack on Moscow

Video Overview & Insights

As Ukraine launches its largest-ever drone attack on Moscow, Andrew Marr speaks to Poland’s Deputy PM Radek Sikorsky.

What is the point of providing a platform to Markov, the man who only spews lies.

— @Anu-gn9yn

Images shared from the scene showed huge plumes of black smoke rising from the Kapotnya refinery, one of Moscow’s most important energy facilities, supplying up to 40% of the capital’s petrol and 50% of its diesel fuel.

16 people were injured in the blistering assault on Wednesday night, which saw 555 drones shot down and over 200 intercepted, according to Russia’s Defence Ministry.

Can’t wait to hear Nigel Farage and Richard Tice talking about Russian meddling… as crooked as they come.

Labour just want to give all the money away.

What even is this country now!?

— @chaz8863

Sikorsky calls the attack a ‘propaganda catastrophe’ for Putin, who wants to portray the image of Russia having the upper-hand in the war.

Poland has less than half the population of the UK, so surely the UKs 2.5% of GDP is comparable to Polands 4.6%, no..?

The only reason NATO is talking about 5% is that they are trying to placate Trump, it's just a suspiciously round, arbitrary number.

There is only one reason Putin has not nuked yet, the new world leadership has drawn a line, and President Xi and the Chinese people will NOT HAVE THAT !!
It is when he is near death or personally threatened that we need to be concerned.
Also, Trump will nuke to protect his ego.
Bibi, supported by right wing religious fanatics, will nuke to stay out of prison and shame.
So....

NATO is a collective defense treaty. So as long as the sum of all members are greater than the opponent, the "percentage of GDP" spent on defense is somewhat moot.

According to The Economist these are the Brexit benefits:

British wine makers can now sell their wine in any shaped bottle they like (Except into the EU)

Marshmallows and other confectionary can now contain titanium dioxide (In 2022, the European Commission banned the use of titanium dioxide (E171) in food. This followed a 2021 review by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), which stated that concerns regarding genotoxicity (DNA damage) could not be ruled out.

Non vertebrates such as cephalopods can now be included in in animal welfare rules.

UK fishermen are no longer able to catch sand eels which will give Puffins more of their favourite food.

The UK have liberalised the rules on gene-edited crops (Thereby preventing their export to the EU)

Hedgerows are flourishing due to tweaked incentives apparently not allowed by the EU’s Common Agriculture Policy.

Vacuum cleaners are no longer limited to 900 Watts. (This will apparently cure the mouse infestation of the palace of Westminster as the more powerful vacuum cleaners will be able to clean up the crumbs that the mice feed on!

The problem is many in our nation have been told to focus on the threat of invasion by non white immigrants rather than the real threat of the Russians. Many are to blinded by racism to see the truth and realise the likes of Farage and Musk have Russians interests with there scare mongering.

The sheer scale of Mr Markovs delusion is staggering!

😂 So Russia has been bombing Ukraine over the past 4 years with missiles and drones and yet Ukraine is still standing. But somehow the largest country on earth is going to lose the war because of a couple of drones hitting oil refineries? The US and Isreal bombing of Iran didn't change the outcome of the war in Iran but actually Iran emerged victorious but somehow drones are going to make Ukraine win the war? If bombings ever won any war, the US and Isreal would be in Tehran handpicking the next government officials. War is won by the ground forces and no amount of technology can win you any war unless you resort to nukes.

This just means that Ukraine will be further decimated, everyone knows this is an unwinnable proxy war designed to weaken Russia at the expense of the naive Ukrainians. Boris Johnson admitted this after he ensured there would be no compliance by NATO to the Istanbul Agreement. But the war has proven only to strengthen Russia's resolve and it's sphere of influence globally. Therefore, it's time to call it a day and prevent unnecessary death and destruction, by agreeing to Russia's terms, or continue to escalate towards all out war with NATO. Which is the best option, it's not difficult is it?

@brettblyth1857

So Markov believes that 14 million Ukrainians have been killed if his numbers are to be believed?!? Considering there was only 8.7 million Ukrainian men of fighting age in 2022 I think he may be telling porky pies. Russia is losing and will lose this conflict, we in the west don't want to invade Russia however we do want peace and for Russia to understand that they cannot dictate to another country what they do.

I believe that the majority of the British electorate DO want our defence spending increased dramatically. It’s the politicians who are pussyfooting. For them it’s the dilemma of finding the money of course. The so called ‘woke’ culture sees vast amounts spent on the wrong things, but those in power seem incapable of reading the mood of the people. They panda to the woke minority, believing that theirs is the voice of the people, frightened that to do what is truly needed will lose them their seats.

Diplomacy has died. It wasn't profitable.

No diplomacy means more money for the super wealthy through manufacturing weapons, owning stocks in those manufacturers and getting huge security contracts with our governments. At the same time the governments are making austerity measures to pay for all this.

The plot of the wealthiest goes on filling up their pockets, while even middle class families are now struggling to make ends meet.
