@TatarriboThe people who call to prayer are different to the imam, its usually a separate role.
And the call to pray is slightly different for the dawn prayer, there is a line that says prayer is better than sleep.

I would like to maybe shed light on 2 words used:
1) Art historians agree “Byzantine” is a made up word, the correct one is “East Roman Empire” all texts during this period including the Empire’s own referral never mention the word “Byzantine” and it is incorrect. I think mostly the modern world does not want to accept that Turks ended the Roman Empire so they invented a word and supported the weak claim with non-roman texts.
2) Until Turkish Republic was founded, nobody even knew the word “İstanbul”, Ottomans continued to call the city “Konstantinopolis” simply because the city was named thousands of years ago, why change it? The Republicans however thought the old ottoman capital’s name bared too much meaning and need to change. (Around 1930)

@arcie3716Rick, with respect, a small correction. The Imam doe not call “call for the prayers” (Adhan). It’s the Muaddhin (in Arabic), the one who reminds people of prayer time. The Turkish pronunciation is Muezzin. Same thing.
