Israelis grapple with Iran’s attritional missile fire
Video Overview & Insights
Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world.
Remember, Israel wanted this.
ToI founding editor David Horovitz joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode.
Following overnight Iranian cluster warhead fire that killed four, Horovitz discusses the complex challenge of intercepting the warheads that can fall in multiple locations. He also details the specific aspects of safeguarding Ben Gurion International Airport, which is now reducing the number of people allowed on each outgoing flight due to the fraught realities.
As per usual this whole conversation doesn't talk about WHY Israel is being bombarded with missiles and clusters bombs and civilian life has become disrupted. Because Israel and the USA started an illegal war with Iran and with arrogant contempt believed that the war would be over in a matter of days and they would achieve regime change in Iran. Big mistake.
As the war nears the end of its third week, Horovitz examines the attritional aspects of the missile attacks, as Iran and Hezbollah keep up multiple strikes.
He also talks about what he regards as the existential threat posed by the Islamic Republic, as well as whether the Iranian people will rise against the regime if and when the US and Israel signal that the time is ripe to do so.
Is this society getting a taste of what it so gleefully inflicts upon others?
Horovitz looks at the divergence in messaging from US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, even as they and their militaries maintain close alignment, and whether this war will end with Iran retaining its enriched uranium stockpile and able to advance its rogue nuclear program.

Where does Israel get their oil from? Israel acts as if it is immune to the oil price.

Iranians are SHOUTING that they are avenging the killing of children in Gaza by Israel - Is it true!
@rakeshbhatt9357Thank you very much for sharing this briefing!. Chodesh Tov!. Shalom!.
@blancarosabeltranvelazquez4176Nooooooooo..........................................................👀
@texascrystalThis guy is such s liar... iran came that much closer to having the bomb?? Shameless propagandist!
@norga2063it has been, is and will be about removing the thugs that protect the regime. If they can't protect the regime, it falls.
That means weapons in the hands of the populace that can hit the irgc and basij. Make them fear confronting protestors -- and some will decide its just not worth it. Combined with air power taking out things like checkpoints and armored vehicles, etc. Combined with threats against members of the irgc and basij that can cause some to flip.Make the irgc and basij paychecks stop. its a lot tougher to want to fight if the risk of dying is higher and the bank account is going lower. Heck, find a few mercenaries and have them go after a specific spots.
The collapse is hard to predict, but when it happens, it'll probably happen quickly. It might not be obvious, even the day before it starts to happen. The pressure must be relentless and it'll work. Hopefully soon.

@pinkdostoyevskyThe editor is wrong in several assumptions and this is causing a misunderstanding of the “Iranian threat “.
1) The DNI assessed that Iran has not been developing a bomb and didn’t restart enrichment.
2) The government of Iran is up to the Iranians. To reduce the threat of Iran and Israel, is enough to engage in a peace treaty. Vacate Lebanon, give Palestinians the same rights and a country. Problem solved.
End the war now. It's failed. Let out people who want out.
@outandabout4812Be merciful and deal with Palestine people, the owner of the land justly. That's being humane. The end belongs to the righteous.
@SalmanThabitAladedude on this clip looks absolutely awful; like he is about to drop dead.
@johnwatson6194no its not outrageous iran has and is destroying the US bases that host attacks on its soil and people
@johnwatson6194David is very knowledgeable
@barbaraweinstein2938David has to relisten to his words.
The world will come together to make it too expensive to wage war
the bully whining that a victim can occasionally punch back........ ya OK......... you people never learned anything from the schoolyard? are jewish school playgrounds that different than others in the world? these are all lessons the rest of us learn by our teens.
@mendoza4789Thank you for your informative report.
@barbaraweinstein2938it’s not anti semitism when the world sees israel starting wars, bombing oil infrastructure and then complains when the people they go to war with retaliate. It’s not anti semitism, it’s pointing out the actions of a child. The actions of a rapid, lonely child
