regardless of if the shifts are slow ... or the car has a strange braking issue ... the reality is with 250+ extra BHP (lets be honest no stage 1 f82 is 550 more like 520-530) the Stang should be walking away in every race... but yea ... its just not as fast lol
We’ve got Mat in a Ford Mustang, and he’s going up against a BMW M4!
However, this is no ordinary Mustang - it’s been tuned by Clive Sutton and fitted with a supercharger! So let’s take a closer look at the stats…
Matt forgot how to shift a manual transmission. 🤣🤣🤣
The base spec Mustang is powered by a 5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that produces 453hp and 540Nm. However, this one’s been fitted with a supercharger and a new exhaust, and it now produces 800hp and 870Nm! This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 6-speed manual, and it weighs in at 1,812kg. The full cost of the car, including the upgrades, is £165,000.
Then we come to the F82 BMW M4. The standard M4 comes with a 4-litre twin-turbo inline six that produces 450hp and 550Nm. However, the car we have here has had an ECU and DCT tune, and as a result, it now produces 550hp and 750Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed dual-clutch, and the car tips the scales at 1,537kg.
Even with poor gear shifts and 800 hp, if the Mustang were any good, Matt would be out in front.
So the Mustang is well up on power, but could the weight difference, coupled with the manual gearbox, prove decisive? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Why is Matt coming all the way off the power on the gear change? You should still keep 30-50% throttle, especially if the revs are dropping too much on those obviously very slow changes

@easycomeeasygo8901Manual gearboxs more fun...but the reality is for racing the autos rule. No gaps in acceleration or bogging between gear changes on the auto.

@yoanmorales5556The negative of a whipple is intake temps. It’s probably heat soaked from sitting and pulling a bunch of timing during the races. The ford calibrations are also really soft and “optimistic.”

@mustangdbest220Why stop at putting the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car. Why not complete the switch and put the gas pedal under your left foot and the clutch and me your right. And while your at it flip the gear box so first gear is still closest to the driver and 5-6 furthest away. Why do it half assed. What if it was just the same globally.
@OGcurmudgeonI think it’s a little bit of both. It’s not 800 hp and bad driving unless the traction control is pulling out all the timing it should be fighting for traction till about 100+mph
