Video Overview & Insights

A wise man once said “If you vote for a billionaire, nothing can bad happen, it can only good happen.” Brings me solace.

You guys are all pretty new to politics so it makes sense that you dont understand that the smart play is to VOTE IN billionaires. We gotta give them all the money and power and they will take care of us, like the pea-brained infants we are. I mean, when has voting for a billionaire EVER gone wrong. You guys will get it when you grow up a little. It’s every billionaire’s natural inclination to help others. How do you think they made all their money? By giving it all away through generous acts, of course.

I am a Porterista. My second choice is Steyer. Can't stand Hilton and Bianco. Don't like Mahan or Becerra. This election sucks. Becerra will probably be our next governor. No change. Non-profit corruption will continue to waste our tax dollars.

Why does Sam Seder care about a gubernatorial candidate's stance on Gaza? Foreign relations is strictly a national issue, for a President and members of Congress to decide.

I think he is the best option on the table, but not being able to say genocide when talking about gaza is a pretty big red flag to me. Also, i dont know why he is still a billionaire. I love that he is a class traitor but it undoubtedly hurts his campaign and credibility. idk why he doesnt just spend it on his campaign or something. Like he could set up a campaign fund for other progressive candidates or something

Conveniently his billions were in hand B4 the "alignment" issues. Not saying people can't change, but Donny said all the words that people wanted to hear as well.

Kady Porter has spoken truth to power with receipts. She is always trying to help the working class. She understands the working class better than others. First women governor world be a great fighter for the working class. It should be her and the one who fought Trump and won. Women rights are very important too. Let's vote for good woman Leaders people, because woman's rights are and going to continue to be under attack, we need someone who will fight for families and communities.

Another old man no thank you

@ruen971

Im confused. How does meeting with someone who has said the u.s deserved 9/11, openly supports terrorist organizations, and animal abuser, make anything compelling?

@kmichisaki7
@

Reminder that when he says he divested, it was a drawn out process that started in 2012 that hasn’t even finished. He is still invested in the energy firm he started.

@Willemishere

The Centrist Wing of the Democratic Party KNOWS exactly what their voters want. They have the data.

The problem is, what their voters want goes directly against what their donors/owners want.

So they're spending millions of $$$s on consultants to figure out how to tell better lies.

is xavier bacerra planning to do same policies as steyer?

Becerra for governor of California , he has the X factor, he is a native californian , an experienced politician and an empathetic human.

@AriSiMom

Why, after ten years of Trump, would anyone believe a word this rich a$$hole says? His “walking away” from those investments made him a lot of money, and he is buying this election. I’ve watched Porter fight for me for 6 years, and she doesn’t take PAC money. Why would you, Seder, weigh in on this at all if you haven’t been keeping informed about it? You watch one sound bite, and think you like this man? I hope I’m wrong if he wins, but I’m not betting on him to be legit.

@miura_vs

No such thing as an ethical millionaire or billionaire we have to stop putting these people in power. That’s how we got here.

@Fishbowlkiller006

My vote went to Steyer even though he's sitting in a Dolce Gabana desk chair. There's no way I would have voted for Becerra he's another corporate Dem who's taken the max amount of campaign money from Chevron; he can't be trusted.

@KymmLisa

3:33 he did not become pro Christ. He took the spiritual teachings and perverted it. Tyranny disguise the spirituality.

@DeeLeerYummm

Booooo this sucks from Majority Report. Don’t stand for a billionaire

@amphibian6074
@

3:40 but Jesus Christ IS a socialist though! ;)

@Fourleggedfreak

I think the contradiction I have with him is that he's had years to NOT be a billionaire anymore and could have donated that money somewhere, so it's hard to take his comments as more than lip service. He's STILL a billionaire estimated with over 2 billion. That's something he likely could have solved himself, even if he invested that money in specific companies to solve progressive problems.

@James_ER

Looks like Becerra is being shoved down our throats now...

@WickedMTG

Please have him on.

I live in SF and will be voting for steyer. I’m not thrilled about supporting a billionaire but his views are closest to my own.

@seandouglas6769
@

Stayer's family is set in the perfect position to directly benefit from Tom being governor? His family would have hands on every sector we need in our daily lives and would still have that power when Steyer steps away.

So why hasn't Steyer committed to walling himself off and recusing himself from any decision that could foreseeably affect Galvanize, Fahr, Farallon-linked interests, Beneficial State, TomKat, Ponderosa, Halcyon, family-linked entities, portfolio companies, investors, donors, or nonprofits connected to his family ecosystem?

It's a Huge conflict of interest for California.

@christinareynaga4414
@

Answer is no, but he is the best option to reduce harm. As a progressive leftist Californian, I m simply underwhelmed if not depressed . What is wrong with this state ??!! It s the most beautiful yet wierd. How could this state have Newsom as its top boss ? Just understandable. So much potential and good people in CA, yet everything goes wrong here. I don’t get it

@mimb9856
@

Yes, it is

@exitnumberzero
@

This amount of enthusiasm is basically what all of my friends seem to be feeling as well (essentially none). But yeah, also probably going for Steyer

@jennymarie4803
@

Okay but.. when literally asked if billionaires should exist, he avoids answering the question and just rattles on about his vague plan to tax the rich- so saying he stands for taxing billionaires "out of existence" would be a FAR stretch and frankly I DON'T BELIEVE HIM. It's honestly a shame how much leftist media is sleeping on the underground candidate here in California and the movement to write his name in- BUTCH WARE ✅️

@asterrisk36

Porter is a waste and needs to drop out. Styer is ok but I question his authenticity. Becerra has been attorney general for CA and has sued trump over 100 times and won many of those cases, he was head of health and human services under Biden, and served as a representative from 1993 to 2017. He has a very good track record and knows how the system works which is very important. Styer has zero experience. I'm voting for Becerra.

@TortillaJackson43

He's the "moderate" one, not fetterman

I'd much rather give Steyer a chance than give my home state away to a Republican.

@JDsHouseofHobbies
@

Steyer thinks he can fix housing and green energy using "market forces," and he’s dropping a insane $132 million of his own cash to prove it.
But the massive issue with his billionaire approach is that it treats giant, systemic real-world problems like they're just business problems you can solve with a massive checkbook. It pushes us further into a system where executive power is basically bought, instead of being built through actual grassroots consensus.

@MantisToboggan_210
@

He and Katie Porter are in top 2. The very fact there are 2 viable GOP candidates make me stop from possibly voting for Porter. I do hope that Porter and Steyer are in the top 2 going into Nov as I think both will be good for CA. If I had to vote right now Steyer has it just due to the fact that I don't want to split that vote and have 2 GOP candidates.

@Theendgamelv3
@

definitely not Katie Porter

@oliversmom

No don’t trust a billionaire vote for Ramsey Robinson and have the billionaire invest in Working class people.

I've been getting so much hate in liberal spaces for saying good things about Steyer. I hear from people who are for Becerra (because of his list of experience) or Porter (because of the white board?) and won't even consider listening to a discussion about Steyer. I've tried to point out that he divested from the for-profit prisons over 20 years ago. He's behind a tax increase for himself. Universal healthcare. Holding ICE and Miller accountable. Closing loopholes and cutting red tape that would help with housing. He's honest when he doesn't know something, he can admit when he was wrong, he can discuss mistakes and the lessons learned from them. Not a single person in this administration will do that. It's the most human attitude! He's being endorsed by the Socialist Party of California, teachers, Bernie; and, he's being actively opposed by special interests! How much more do people want (other than having him not be a billionaire)? I don't understand those who are screaming "He's a billionaire," refuse to let go of how he made his money decades ago, and will forgive the establishment dems their donors and lacklustre policy plans. Did anyone consider that establishment dems, and their failure to fight back, are part of the problem and how we allowed billionaires to exist?! What about putting a little blame on voters who were happy being ignorant of the policies they were voting for (by voting for the wrong people)? Anyway, I guess beating people up for trying to be objective and honest isn't just a thing MAGA does.

Great poverty and great wealth are unavoidable side effects of a free and open economy, but good policy will keep both to a minimum.
