Perth/WA isn't what you think, if WA was a country it would be the 10th largest contry, ahead of the current 10th, Algeria, by around 200,000 square km.
Perth metro area runs from Two Rocks (Wanneroo) in the north to Peel in the south and out along the Darling Scarp. That's 6,500 square kilometres in total.
The wine region of the south-west corner is very popular and possible to do as a day trip.
The tall timber region is amazing too but further afield, including Albany.
The true coastal gem is in the Esperance area, the bays and beaches along the coast are insanely beautiful.
The "Coral Coast" from north of Perth to Exmouth have world class swimming, diving and boating locations full of unique experiences found only here on this side of Australia.
The "Wheat Belt" has ghost towns and other reminences of the British colonisation of the state. The Wheat Belt is also home to amazing wildflower blooms in spring each year, it's when the land comes alive with the colors of the rainbow. The Wheat Belt is full of geological attractions like Wave Rock. WA is home to the worlds largest single rock, Mount Augustus, much larger than Ayers Rock.
If you are local you know the vast amount of unique places and activities available to us not far from Perth either for the day or a weekend away.

@To411uPerth has wonderful riverside suburbs too. Beautiful, peaceful walking and bike paths, kayaking and paddle boarding at the bottom of your road. Good schools and often an easy commute to the city.
