Is Neymar's World Record Fee Unbreakable?
Video Overview & Insights
It has been almost nine years Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona for a world-record breaking €222 million, and yet, no one has come remotely close to breaking the Brazilian's record during that time.
Please can you make a The 7 Most Ethical Football Clubs In The World video? Criteria could include community and charitable involvement/decent ticket pricing/player welfare/ethical ownership and sponsorship. Let's celebrate the clubs doing the right things....if there are actually any
So in this video, HITC Sevens takes a look at whether Neymar's record as the most expensive footballer of all time is unbreakable.

only 25 minutes. Come on Alfie there would´ve been the potential for at least 25 more minutes digression about the Qatari Geopolitics and the middle east in general. You can do better mate.

I think the only possible future transfer record would be, if PSG bought Lamine Yamal.

Hi Alfie! I've got a great topic for you. Do you know that the same VAR referee has been chosen to PSG matches in 4 rounds in a row?
Carlos Del Cerro Grande was the VAR referee in the first leg of PSG matches in every elimination round: against Monaco, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Bayern.

In modern football there literally isn’t a single player that is on Neymar’s caliber that would justify a record breaking fee of that magnitude. Not Mbappe, yamal, guler or vini.
@Zakary749There is one possibility that the Transfer Free will be broken.
If the Trump-MAGA Regime falls and it's replacement Post-MAGA Regime targets Bezos, Ellison & Musk for supporting Trump, they might feel the need to not only leave the United States, but look to buy up the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal & Liverpool and invest heavily into those clubs.
Mainly to buy up the loyalty of their Fanbase, so that said Post-MAGA Regime would find it more difficult to repatriate said Billionaires back home.
You forgot to mention Isak in that list of worst transfers ever (considering price : performance)
@asdasda2137Generational player for being marketable, that´s it Suarez was way better at the time but he wasn´t a branding player.
@JuanJoséOñate-m4esomeone WILL break the bank on kiki -2026 bigmanting
@yorealbilaltRump's war with Iran at the behest of Israel has just about bankrupted the Arab Gulf oil states, and so, no, PSG and Man City not going to be able to afford such huge transfer fees anymore. Real Madrid and Barcelona also are also in arrears and are no longer able to make huge signing, instead counting on their reputations to sign big stars on free transfers after they run out their contracts
@gandalfgreyhame3425Video idea for you Alfie, having just heard about Matazo. Top 7 most consequential ACL injuries
@int0th3v01dDay 5: Top 7 Davy van den Berg mistakes
@CLeach190124:00 you had me at the flashing text
@jnyYT8:56 SIX SEVENNNNN
@jnyYTWhen you can get a player like Haaland for 52 mil why would you ever spend over 100 mil
@AlphoricThere is currently a massive player elligibility fuss going on in the Netherlands which might see this year’s Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie seasons being declared invalid. Over 230 games across both competitions have seen at least one player on the pitch that technically wasn’t allowed to play.
Just in case you need some video topics
in each video there is always a moment that I laugh out loud so much that it reminds me I have to click the like button... today it was seeing AFTV 😂
@AnImaginativeNameIf Yamal transfers then he’s probably the one. He would do something stupid like go to PSG or City
@jairmorales2017Hey a 7-idea: Top 7 managers who would've coach a top contender by now if they were either british, italian or spanish. I start Oliver Glasner - the man overachieved everywhere he managed, played in europe at every club he managed. If a Brit, an Italian or a Spaniard brought an Austrian club back to the top tier, kept winning to play in the CL Playoff and play in the EL, goes to the Bundesliga, qualifies for the EL and CL, goes to another Bundesliga blub won the EL there and at his next stop (a low tier PL club) won the FA-Cup - then there would at least be talks about a move to a top 5-top 10 club in Europe.
Pretty sure there are other examples - yet on the other hand there are a bunch of Steven Gerrads, Gennaro Gattusos or Julen Lopeteguis
who basically lose everywhere and clubs begging them to manage (and lose)
It was the moment I lost interest in football
@lordhelmchen4645I don't get why alfie's overlord isn't pushing for more shortform content uploaded to various platforms
@DominiqueCollins-f5yReally excellent video as usual...and no AI slop anywhere in sight.
@MaybeJohnIt also helped that he's Brazilian
@ganaedBack from work, knackered and can barely think let alone type...so forgive me for asking....has there ever been a genuinely successful £100m transfer?
@markrowley27399:20 only the top 3 la liga clubs set them super high, especially Barca and Madrid. Ofc this makes sense but my point is that the rest of the teams have really fkin low release clauses for their top players, so they don’t even get much money most of the time. just one of the many reasons why la liga is ASS now and the english money league is levels ahead 😒
@fidelramirez-i5rBarca are a banter club
@A_r78Monaco are stupid, how do you sell mbappe and others for that much and still become an irrelevant club
@fidelramirez-i5rDay 4: Top 7 Davy van den Berg mistakes
@CLeach1901That Neymar deal man :( I feel it was bad for everyone involved. Barcelona just blew the money instantly & Neymar (although brilliant) had an injury ridden time at PSG & never won the UCL. I wish he stayed with Barca 😔
@silvesta5027yes
@kimngo6444In the spirit of Rochdale vs York. What are the 7 most dramatic ends to a season?
@tjbonzai87Alfie your pronunciation of Araujo is absolutely insane
It’s A-rao-hoe
It will be broken one day because of inflation. In relative terms (adjusted for inflation) I dont think it will ever be close, though.
I will say Lamine Yamal could probably break it right now if barcelona would ever be stupid enough to sell, but that will never happen.
When you investigate the real (political) reasons behind Neymar's transfer to PSG, you understand there's no chance it gets beaten.
@Fenix-lr6ezDay idk of asking, "What on earth is going on in Indian Football?"
@mp19089309:15 - technically not true. The relevant law actually states that there must be a release clause OR the fee to buy out ones contract is set at tribunal. It's just that because nobody involved wants to deal with a tribunal that they are so near universally used. The word "near" used as Athletic club in the last few years have resigned players to contracts with no clause (as far as I can tell, as a marketing ploy)
@KaitlynFedrickI'm disappointed. The video did not include the line "without further Adu, who never joined a club for a world record fee."
@klausroxin4437Neymar sucks. Most overrated player ever
@SuperRioMa01i am subscribing, this channel will undoubtedly reach 1mil very soon!
@j4theseasonMight a video covering the most expensive transfer in every currency be interesting?
@froodlenoodleYes u knob.inflation❤
@liamkirwan800The 7 greatest chairmen please
@TheKalaxisOne hell of a pronunciation of A-row-ho
@JoeMercersWayGreat video, but I feel like the 25 minutes weren't quite enough for an in depth socioeconomic and geopolitical analysis that was needed to fully understand this topic, in my humble opinion, the video could have used another 10-15 minutes in run time.
@kirilichushanka13576:10 its 4 seasons not 3 🤦🏾
@ugouduchukwu43057 best goal scorers to never win European golden boot pls
@faiyazkhan3300With the upcoming epl tv deal in 2028,most epl teams will do 100m deals on a regular
@maropengrampyapedi938Utter woke nonsense. Back in the day you just needed to know that a bloke could down 10 pints in the evening and go and score a stunner next day to sign a player
@matejhajek6325Transfers will and already are becoming more like American sports, particularly the NBA. Often big players will run out their contracts in order to move teams, and straight cash for player trades are almost unheard of. Mbappe's situation will become the standard for star players
