The problem is that the current generation of managers and recruiters in power at many professional organisations came of age during the era of Blair/Brown âeducation education educationâ technocrats, these are fixated on the number of letters a person has after their name. Consequently you have job requirements that 20 years ago you could have potentially accessed without a degree, that now have statements such as âPhD preferredâ etc.

While that may be true, I have ten years of research experiences in ecology, geography, fisheries resource management, marine biology, fisheries science, and behavioural ecology, and Iâm still trying to find a job while in graduate school.

It's the boomers my professors are Ceo's and teach as 2nd job and they complain about the elderly of similar ages holding onto there jobs even now and are too scared to retire, and as a Gen Z member I can't blame them by the way the economy has adapted and changed over the years were all just trying to survive while a 1% of the country's population get to thrive due to there hard work or connections but with years of power and monopoly influence they don' allow a paved way for any new gen workers or graduates a shot even in intro roles.

AI need education to understand which either they are helping us in our works or life or not. As for education levels are very introspective, whether are ivy league schools or not they ought to provide better facilities and education, worth going to uni? liaison on liable and affordable, not make just only for ranking...humanities are volatiles in vary to meant for normal distribution.

@favor_raptor2365So, If I understood correctly, you need to have an internship on your CV to be more likely to be hired. However, entry-level jobs are decreasing and the requirements for internships are increasingly unmatchable with the competences universities provide to students. Therefore, If they cannot get a first working experience because of these reasons, and there is less demand for entry-level positions, how can they even get into the workforce? It does not make any sense to me. Nonetheless, internship opportunities are scarce, do not convert into full time positions, and there is a fierce competition to get them. Eventually, the harsh truth is that the vast majority of people are unable and uncapable to orient themselves into the modern world. Then, how can they understand whatâs important to focus on today if even corporations and governments do not know?

We just want a normal life. Normal job, normal house, normal car, full fridge and belly, peace and happiness. It's really not much. And we can get all these without AI. Cause that's what we did for hundreds of years. If anyone wants to study AI, go study. But that can't be the goal of whole world population. And it shouldn't be. Because we all know it takes our identity away. Humans, a normal kind of animal, can't forget how to live. And we're beginning to forget that - if not forgot. AI is not necessary. It can never be.

@miriamjones-p4qA degree without drive, and wily street smarts means nothing. My cousins have masters degrees out the ying yang, and are mid managers at best. One is an un employed teacher, and the other books travel for corporations and hates it. Neither have any assets. I love them dearly, but they chose the wrong door!!

For a student weighing the cost of massive tuition and years of their life, being told "it's your humanity that matters" is a cop-out. It's too vague to be an answer.
You should still go to university regardless of job prospects because university will give you friendships, independence as individuals, exposure to the world outside of your local group and connections which maybe worthwhile after you graduated. Job will eventually come so long as you donât be choosy
@dxarelto2748Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Get a hands-on trade. Lucky I earned one of them, too, because this degree ain't worth th epaper it's written on. Why? Not becuase of the poor quality of pedagogy, it's because the real world don't value it.
